It has been two weeks since the exams and the results should be coming in any day now. Every day had you a little more impatient than the last. The longer that you had waited for your letter the more thoughts of getting rejected had crossed your mind. Trying every possible distraction you could keep yourself busy. Pushing the depressing thoughts away. You ended up using all of your free time to train your quirk or drawing in an old sketchbook of yours. Today had been no different from the others beforehand. You woke up showered, dressed, cleaned and checked the mail. This time when you had checked the mail you had found an envelope with the big UA logo on the front. Your emotions had been all over the place at that moment. In your handheld the very answer that you had waited impatiently for. All excitement had vanished when you heard a loud thud coming from inside the house. Stuffing the envelope into your hoodie making sure it was out of sight and unnoticeable. The last thing you needed was your mother finding out you applied for UA let alone a hero's course. Carefully walking inside you realized that the thud you heard earlier was your drunken mother passed out on the floor. Sighing you had left the rest of the mail on the counter. Your envelope still tucked away into your hoodie. Quickly bolting up the stairs and into your room. When you walked inside your room you softly closed the door. Your back pressed against the door you slowly fell to the floor. Pulling the envelope out from under your jacket. You stared at the enclosed envelope in your hands when you felt a droplet fall onto it. Raising your hand up to your cheek you realized that you had been crying. Every thought of not being good enough or of not deserving it had come crashing down. You looked back to the envelope sitting on your lap when something inside you breaks. You start sobbing at the possibilities. Realizing how loud you were, you had brought your hand up to cover your mouth muffling your cry's. Your mother's words had started to play in your head "You think you could be a hero?! With a quirk like that, you might as well be quirkless!" "Don't EVER use that again!" and the one that had hurt the worst... "You're selfish! You're the reason he's gone!" with that last memory in your head you self consciously raised your free hand up to your right shoulder.
It had been an hour before you had calmed down enough to pick up the letter again. Using your sleeve you measly whipped away your runny nose and tiers away. You had taken an extra minute to breathe as the letter sat in your hands. Finally working up the courage to open the letter you shakily used your finger to tear open the top of the letter. Once the letter was open a hologram of All Might had appeared in front of you. "I am here! Congratulations young (Y/N)! I am pleased to say that you have passed the entrance exam and that you are now a part of class 1-A's hero course!" A couple of short clips of you differing bots and saving other examiners had been played. As you blankly wanted the footage. "With your quirk, you will make an excellent hero! I will be looking forward to seeing you in class young (Y/N)!" With that, the hologram was gone. All that was left was the papers explaining your schedule and where to pick up your uniform. You had stared blankly in front of you as your brain was processing what just happened.
"I-I did it...I got in! I got in!" The excitement started to build up inside you. If you hadn't remembered that your mother was home you would have been jumping and screaming for joy. To keep that excitement in you resorted to biting the inside of your cheek. Not really caring about the blood you were now tasting. But the shocking thing is that you actually smiled, a real genuine smile. Enjoying the moment, but that's all it was a moment your smile was wiped off as soon as you heard her.
"Braht wheer aRe you?!" Your mussels had stiffened, your toes had scrunched up inside your shoes. She was drunk... your heart fell at the thought. Quickly you had scrambled to hide the letter inside your desk drawer before walking down the stairs with your head down.
"You needed something?" Face still down you had noticed that she wasn't alone. There had been a man a little older than your mom standing by the front door. In your mother's drunken state she had fumbled over to you to smack your cheek hard enough to leave a handprint.
"You dizrespectful peeace of sh- *hiccup* it!" she was now hunched over in front of you with a half dankin bottle of alcohol in her hand. The man that was previously by the door was now walking towards you. He was definitely not as drunk as your mother had been if he had been drunk at all. He had this crazed look plastered on his face as he got closer to you. Your legs started to shake as he got closer. Slowly trying to distance yourself you had started to back up.
After a couple of steps, you had backed up into a wall. The man had cornered you into the wall. Placing his arms on the wall on either side of you. He started pushing himself upon you as you had felt his growing bulge in his pants. You tried pushing him away but he had shoved you back into the wall. Nocking all you air out of you. You had desperately looked over at your mother for help but she was just laughing at what was going on. The man in front of you had started laughing. He lifted one of his hands off the wall and up and under your shirt grabbing firmly onto your hip that was sure to leave a bruise. Not having much else of a choice you started to heat up your hands the heat worsening your already burnt skin. Placing them firmly onto the man's chest using all your force to push the man off of you. Him not expecting you to burn him he flinched back and you took the opening to run out the door.
"Aagh- you piece of shit!" He had hissed as he tried following but he had tripped over an old glass bottle causing him to fall onto the floor. Despite all this you run, running out of this hell house. Tiers were spilling out of your eyes. You hear them both cuss you out but you didn't stop. You just kept on running. That is until you had run into someone.
