Dare we talk about the absence of pure light?
A path where shadows move in the periphery
The deepest, unknown corners of the human mind
Tread lightly within a schizophrenic psyche
I give full warning, my words could be contagious
Instilling alternate perceptions of reality
Who is to say that what I see is not the truth?
Causing rational minds to question their sanity
A straight jacketed soul with intentions to reach you
Societal agreements push me outside the norm
Within my mind no apprehension of my thoughts
The darkness inside me, not willing to conform
Acceptance of the dualistic human condition
My dark identity, disservice to self to suppress
Without the contrast formed because of shadows
Light's definition would be blurred, meaningless
Ashamed of who I am, I am definitely not
A chasm realized within my personality
Created to experience a polarizing soul
The truth of who we are in this reality
