WARING: This is my first book ever
---------------------------------------------
Ahh what a lovely Sunday morning. Birds are chirping and the suns up and shining bright, I thought to myself as I woke up from my deep sleep.
“Zoe get your butt downstairs now, we have important news!” my mum screamed at me from the kitchen.
I swing my feet out from under the snugly warm covers and shove them in my fluffy puppy dog slippers and run down stairs. My older brother Josh and younger sister Lily were already sitting at the table eating what looked like cornflakes.
“Honey sit down please,” my dad asked me as I walk in the room. My mum came out and placed a plate of hash browns and scrambled eggs with a hot chocolate in front of me.
“Ummm mum what do you want? It’s not my birthday I’m pretty sure and you NEVER do this,” I ask emphasising the never,
All she did was look towards my dad. I was starting to get suspicious because me and my mum have always had a really close relationship and she would always tell me something before anyone else so she was starting to worry me a bit.
“Come on guys it can’t be that bad.”
I joked, still no one said anything, mum had a look on her face saying I’m sorry but It’s for the best.
I looked towards my brother who looked really angry, his jaw was tensed and his eyes had a cold stare shooting daggers at my parents.
He stood up pushing his chair back behind him in the process,
“You want to know why they brought you down here?”
He asked roughly, I gulped not knowing what to say.
“They've gone behind your back for the last 2 weeks and organised for you to get married to some boy at your school,” he yelled looking as pissed as ever.
I turned towards my mum who had now controlled herself and was clearing the plates off the table cautiously. Once she realised I was staring at her with wide eyes she slowly turned her head my direction nervously,
“Mum,” I said slowly “I-is what he said tr-true?” I asked stuttering.
“Yes it is honey it’s for the best. Like you said you want to grow up and follow your dreams, but I also need someone who can take over the business and this boy is willing to,” my dad told me while his face held no emotion.
“What about Josh he’s the oldest, can’t he take over and run all the hotels?”
I asked as anger started to boil up inside me,
“No,” dad said, “When your brother graduated from high school I told him he was to take over but he refused and that’s why you didn't see him for those 5 months last year because he went and stayed with grandma until I realised that I was holding him back from doing what he wants,” I couldn't move I stood there stunned that he would do such a thing, does he not love me enough to let me marry who I want and just sell the business. I thought it over for a minute and realised I was never going to win I was going to have to say yes and break up with my boyfriend.
“Okay,” I told him when i realised i wouldn't win in this argument
“Okay?” my dad and brother chorused asking me completely shocked.
“Okay” I said again “When am I meeting this guy and who is he?” I asked.
“Umm his family are coming around for dinner tonight so don’t go and make any plans with Zack or your friends. Also the boy’s name is Connor Bernard” my dad told me.
My mouth dropped open, I was in shock why me, why him. Out of all the people in the school he chose Connor Bernard the nerdiest kid in school, I Zoe Kingsleigh was going to be married to the nerdiest boy at Liberty High.
