The first two weeks in Paris had been a whirlwind of new techniques, new friends and trying to remember to converse only in French all day long.

And that was just from 5 AM to 2 PM.

My time after class was a bit slower but at the same time, a whirlwind because I would eat a late lunch, take a nap and spend time with Gabe, Sang and Mom. Usually listening to what they'd done that day while I was busy and then dressing for dinner at some classy little place Gabe had found and wanted to go eat at. My pile of things in the hotel room had multiplied significantly because Gabriel tended to pick up important items for me when he shopped for Sang. And my mom had managed to compile a lengthy list of addresses of available places to live for me.

Sang, however, fed into my need for girl time while she was around since there weren't that many girls in my patisserie class and I hadn't had enough time to talk to them yet. We'd all been kept hopping and so far, the classroom atmosphere was that of an extremely busy working bakery and it was run with an iron fist and no one had much time for idle chit chat. One of them appeared to be Russian or Ukrainian and I was looking forward to the opportunity to work next to her during the upcoming week so I could find out if I would have a new everyday conversation partner to keep my Russian skills up to speed.

Yes, I'd still talk to Raven every Wednesday but that was only a couple hours. We usually managed to talk a couple times a week outside of our normal diner sessions. God, I missed my bestie. And it had only been two weeks! How was I supposed to survive the rest of the next two years?

I wouldn't say that I had been actively avoiding Cam, but I mean, he was the first person I'd met in France and I always waved at him when I saw him behind the desk when I was coming and going. There were far too many times that I wasn't sure if I was coming or going when I saw him though. He was almost always busy, and I should really be ashamed of myself for not taking the time to go and actually say hello.

I was not looking forward to today, however.

Today is the day they are leaving.

I'll be my mama's baby girl alone in the big scary world of Paris. I'm halfway convinced she thought I was going to ditch the plans I'd had since I was 17 and join some seedy, shady burlesque joint in the dark alleys of Paris and be a can-can dancer.

Do they even still do the can-can?

Sang nudged me towards the front desk when we got back from breakfast. Thank god it was Saturday and their flight didn't leave until well after dinner. I'd actually get a full day with them. Gabriel and Sang's luggage had been put in my room earlier this morning and they were fully checked out of the room so we could still come and go as we pleased today without dragging Sang's new luggage all around town. Oh yes, I am now keeping all the luggage we arrived with because Gabriel invested in an entirely new set of luggage for Sang and the three of them are returning to Charleston with practically just as much luggage as we arrived with. "You should go talk to him." She said, glancing over at the desk.

"He's busy."

"No, he's not." She gave me a hard shove, making me stumble a few steps towards the desk.

"yes, he is and what am I gong to talk to him about?" I asked. "I'm a horrible person for avoiding him the first two weeks I've been here."

She shoved a piece of paper in my hand before smirking at me and walking away towards the elevators. "You're not a horrible person." She said, turning around and looking at me. "You're the best baby sister in the whole world and we all adore you. You've been busy with settling in and entertaining some crazy people from back home who couldn't just let you find out who you are in Paris." She put her hands on her hips and glanced over my head. "And he seems like the good sort of guy who will forgive you for having tunnel vision." She grinned before turning around again and hitting the button for the elevator.
