"Oh so y'all official official?" Megan emphasized as she began curling a strand of my hair. It's been two weeks since Drake and I've kissed and things couldn't be better. Everything in my life seems to be falling into place.
Ms. Evans had pulled me aside after class last week and told me that she's been seeing major improvement in my work ethic, and that I could easily move up to a B+ if I continued to be consistent. I don't know what Aubrey Graham is doing to me. But I love it.
"I wouldn't say all that. But, we're definitely talking." I blushed as I thought about all the time we've been spending together recently.
It's no longer just link ups for tutoring sessions, we've been on numerous dates outside of our deal since the barbecue and each one has brought us tremendously closer.
Whether we were hanging out in his studio while he'd write and record songs or binge-watch Stranger Things in my living room; every moment spent with him has made me realize how much of a mistake Tre and I's relationship was.
"Bitches get a new man and forget they have friends." Lauren rolled her eyes as she laid across my bed while clicking through people's Instagram stories.
I glared at her through my vanity mirror as I put on my big gold hoops, Lauren's never-ending attitude was starting to get on my last nerve.
She wasn't this negative when I was with Trevante and he treated me like complete shit majority of the time, that's why I can't understand what her evident problem with Aubrey is.
Granted I haven't been spending as much time as I used to with the girls because I've been so wrapped up in him, but it wasn't like I completely abandoned them. We still had cheer practice and classes together! I expected them to be supportive of my newfound happiness. Anyone could see what a great guy Drake is, not just to me but the people around us as well.
"Lauren, bitch, you been walking around here with a stank ass attitude for weeks. What's your issue? You act like you ain't never dabbled in the lame nigga department yourself." Megan threw slick shade at Lauren and Keith's former rendezvous.
Lauren sat up straight and gasped as she threw a fluffy throw pillow from my bed at Megan's head.
"Shut up! This has nothing to do with Drake or you know who, Megan. I just don't want to see our best friend hurt again," She insisted while crossing her arms. "At least someone around here is showing concern."
"Concern for what? Where was all this energy when I was dating one of the most toxic niggas out there? I'm finally with someone who treats me as if I'm worth everything and you're not even happy for me." I turned around in my chair sharply as Megan brushed her off and fluffed my curls.
