We just got in our hotel room. Both Cate and Catie was excited. My daughter was been practicing her piece and she really make sure that I won't see it she said it's a surprise. Anyway I let Cate watched my daughter for me. I was busy unpacking our things. Tomorrow night was the first day of the competition.
"Who's hungry?" I asked them both.
"Me!" They said in sync.
"Jinks!"
"Jinks again!"
I rolled my eyes cause of this two. I left them and call the nearest fast food place here in the hotel to deliver se foods.
"Mama"
"Yes sweetheart?"
"Awe you happy?"
"I am why did you asked?" I put Catie in my lap.
"I'm happy too that you awe happy"
"Awww come here" I gave her a big hug.
"Can I join?" Cate asked
"Come hewe Aunt Cate!"

Both me and Cate were sitting in the middle of auditorium. I saw Catie in the third line. I wave my hand to her to see me. It's the semi final of the competition.
"Go! baby!" I shout.
I sighed, I feel nervous for my daughter. It's my first time seeing her to perform. What if she didn't get in to the top 3 how am I going to comfort her?
"Hey you nervous?'
"I am"
"Don't be, she can do it"
We wait for ten minutes before the competition start. The host introduce the ten kids from different state.
The first one start her performance. I get up from my seat.
"Where are you going?"
"To Catie, I'm gonna give her goodluck kiss"
Cate kiss my right cheeks.
"Give that kiss to Catie, tell her I love her and goodluck"
"Okay I will" I'm glad the auditorium was a bit dark. Cate didn't see my blushing cheeks.
I go to the backstage.
The second performer enter the stage. The next one was my baby. I saw sitting, silently praying. I sit next to her and let her finish praying.
"Hey baby"
"Mama!"
"I forgot to give you something"
"What is it Mama?"
"Here"
I kissed her right cheeks. "And this one was from your Aunt Cate" And kissed her left cheeks.
"She also told me goodluck"
"I love you Mama"
"I'm already proud of you baby, you can do this" I smiled at her and get up.
"You can do this" I mouthed.
I left the backstage and go to my seat.
"How is she?"
"She fine, she said thank you for the kiss"
The second performance was done it's finally my baby's turn.
"And now for the second performer. Catie Jackson!" The curtains open and I saw my Catie.
I was confused that she goes to the host and borrow the mic.
"Ehem, Hi evewyone, This dance I dedicated this to my Mama. This is for you Mama!" I got teared up for her little speech. Now I know the reason why she hiding her piece because of its for me.
She gave back the mic to the host and go in the center of the stage.
In the first tune of the song I know what is it.
"Awww look who's crying"
"Shut up Catherine"
"Stop crying, enjoy the performance of Catie. I help her choosing that song"
"You and Catie cause this tears"
I feel goosebumps just watching my kid dancing with full of emotions.
I never felt this kind of emotion before. Maybe my Mom was right I wasn't being a mother to Catie for the past year. Catie finish her piece I can't help but to stand up
and give her my around of applause. Some of the judges did the same.
"I'm so proud of Catie. You lucky to have her"
"No I'm lucky to have Catie in my life"
