"They expect them to be ready in a few weeks, and that's all the time we need. We have to get the child soon, so the bond starts early." John told Angelica.

It was December 28th, and Angelica was visiting with John and Alex. They were all sitting in the living room. She had brought Philip and Kitty to visit too, they really liked John and Alex's apartment view.

Since Alex worked in law, he had a pretty good income and didn't play any games when it came to their apartment. He still was pretty frugal on spending, but when it came to John he loved giving the best.

The apartment was three bedroom (one of which doubled as an art studio and office), had an open kitchen area, and the living spaces walls were covered in floor to ceiling windows which looked at the bustling New York City from 34 stories up. It only had one bathroom, but it was big enough for them.

Kitty loved to watch the ground, and Philip liked looking at the sky.

"That's so exciting!" Angelica grinned. "Oh my God! You have to let me throw you a shower!"

Alex raised his eyebrows and asked: "Are you supposed to do that when you adopt?"

"I don't see why not. You're supposed to do it after the kid moves in, so you know sizes. We can call it a celebration, where gifts aren't expected, but definitely accepted." Angie told him. "The theme could be "Mint To Be" or "Ofishally Adopted" !"

John "awwed" and Alex snorted.

"Well all of our wedding invitations said "Meant to Be" so the "Mint to Be" would be a cute play on that." John thought aloud.

"Are you considering this?"

"Yes, Alex. I am. It would be sweet and a nice help."

"John, we can support this ourselves." Alex argued.

Angelica awkwardly coughed.

"Alex, I think it's a good idea." John said, matching his husbands tone.

"John, sweetie, I don't like it."

"I do. Sweetie."

Alex huffed. "Fine. Only because everyone can meet the baby. That's it."

John grinned at Angelica.

"Like I said "Mint" is cute. But, I love the ocean and fish and it's more personal than a common saying."

"I think mint is personal, just less original. It would be cute, but you're totally right. I'm going to plan you the best shower slash celebration party ever!" Angelica squealed.

"Mommy what are you talking about?" Philip asked, walking up to the trio.

"You, and sissy, are going to have a new baby cousin!" Angelica told him.

"A baby? Is it a boy?"

"It's a secret." Alex said.

"Oh."

Kitty walked over to everyone and raised her arms for her mom, starting to whine.

"That's my cue to get her home for a nap." Angelica said, picking her up and placing her on her hip.

"Oh my gosh, Angie, I'm so sorry. How was the appointment? It was rude of me not to ask sooner." John stood up.
