Prologue

I was 5 years old, that I remember...it was the last time that I laughed. The last time I laughed for a long time because of him...full heartly...because of Goro Akechi. He was my best friend. Our fathers were best friends too, so our contact was unavoidable. Not that this was a bad thing though. To be honest, it was the best thing that could ever happen. He was everything for me. I had not many friends, but he was always on my side. I remember our friendship...

"Y/N!"

He always was the first one to call me. I used to be a little bit shy, so this was a bad habit of mine, not calling him, even if I wanted to. But I always smiled when he decided to call me, and then we always went to the playground and played together.

One time, after a bit, I closed my eyes.

"Goro?"

"Hm? What is it Y/N?", he looked at me, I could feel it, but I still got my eyes closed.

"Do you promise to never leave my side?". Then, I looked up to him, into his big brown eyes. We stared at each other for a while. He then started to put a hand on my shoulder, and pulled me into a hug.

"I will always stay by your side, Y/N. Promise."

Promise...that's what he said. He said, he promised to stay by my side. I closed my eyes again, still lost in thoughts.

"Y/N!"

He shook me, because I started crying without notice. I heard my name to be called again.

I shot my eyes wide open, and stared against a wall. There still was a hand on my shoulder. But this voice....

'Akechi...'

Tears started to flow uncontrolable over my cheeks, and I started sobbing. This voice definitely belongs to Akechi, but I couldn't see him. I just didn't want to realize the situation I was in right now.

The hand on my shoulder belonged to Skull. He didn't say a word, neither do any of the other phantom thieves do. I just stood there and stared against the wall with wet eyes and cheeks, my view was already blurry from my tears.

His lovely voice starts to shall through the wall again, and it shattered my heart into a million pieces.

"Change Shido's heart.... in my stead.... End his crimes.... Please...!!"

'No...why...'

I fell onto my knees, starting to sob like there was no tomorrow. After a while, Joker agreed to Akechis begging.

I started to scream as I finally realized the situation. "AKECHI!!"

A low voice was heard from the other side. I barely heard it. I wondered if I even heard it right. Maybe I was already halluzinating. He said...

"Y/N...I'm sorry....for everything...."

A little pause....

"I still love you"
