My mood was slightly lifted after Ryuji made a first step to our friendship. I actually made a friend. At first I didn't want to make any friends, but I changed my mind. It was nice to be surrounded my people you hang out with again. After I looked into my mirror in the morning, I was pretty sure I wouldn't make friends today... But well, I couldn't complain. It was like a dobble hit. I could build up a bond with Ryuji AND could check out Diner for a part time job. A pretty good thing.
Well, we decided to meet up after school, and since there was nobody who could worry for me at home, I didn't have to tell someone that I would come home late. Sigh...
School finally ended, and I walked together with Ryuji out of our classroom. I saw a girl from our neighboor classroom 2-D stared at us. I stared back. She had blonde pigtails and was extremely beautiful. Somehow, she seemed familiar to me...
"Yo Y/N, wassup? You come?"
Ryuji interrupted my thoughts, and the girl walked away. I nodded and made my way to Ryujis side. As we made our way to Shibuya to the central street, Ryuji suddenly asked:
"Say, where do you live? Do you have a long way?"
He looked at me and I answered quietly: "Currently, I'm living in Yongen Jaya in a small apartment. It's not the best, but well...". My mood instantly dropped.
Of course he noticed the change in my expression and was curious. "Don't you like your home? I know this feelin'... Y'know, when my father used to live with us, I didn't feel safe either. He...physically abused my mom and me. But now, everything's better. This bastard's away from us"
I looked at him in awe. He spelled the tea in this short time? He really seemed to trust me... I should trust him too, but I don't want to tell anyone about my situation.
I took my glance off of him, as I wispered: "I'm sorry to hear that Ryuji..."
He waved with one hand. "Hey it's okay now. Thanks for worrying though"
The rest of our way to Diner went in silence. When we entered the restaurant, a woman greeted us.
"Welcome to Diner! Please have a seat you'd like". She gestured our way into the room, and we choose a table for two persons against a wall. The woman gave us the menu cards and went off. I investigated the menu, as my stomach startet grumbling. Ryuji laughed.
"Someone seems hungry, huh? Don't worry, my treat."
I smiled at him in appreciation, and investigated the menu further. I chose F/M (Favourite Meal) and a casual water. As the waitress came, we ordered our wishes and she walked off after a bow.
I was a bit nervous now. I decided to ask the waitress about the part time job after Ryuji paid. I shook my worries off, and decided to build up a conversation. At least I tried to.
"So, Ryuji....why did you decide to talk to me in class? Were you really worried about me, or is it something else?"
I looked him in the eyes while waiting patiently for an answer. He looked away. "Well, uhmm....I...". His cheeks turned a slight pink. I noticed it and decided that it was the wrong question to start a conversation. "Well okay, then-"
"I thought you looked like a nice, empathic person, who'd understand me and.....woulnd't avoid me...", he interrupted me, as he still looked away as he rubbed his neck. I raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean? Why would I avoid you?"
He sighed. "The teachers already know about the incidence about my father. And that I'm easy to provoke. So I have a feeling they told the others to avoid me...to avoid trouble."
