Good Goodbye

You started to date Billie for the past 5 months. She's perfect and you are happy but, you didn't know what happened. Those past months of dating was really great, until Billie started to get mad easily, yelling at you over little things. Her eyes is filled with hatred, and you don't know why. You got sadder, and sadder, and sadder.

You got to the point that you got depressed, and you can't focus on your studies. Your grades started to fall one by one, making it more difficult to bring them up all at once. You always thought about wanting to let her go a million times, but you know you can't. You love her so much, more than yourself. You can't bear to lose her so you kept holding on, even though it hurts you.

You just finished doing your research, which was a pain in the ass, as always. You stretched out your arms and legs before getting up from the bed, letting out a sigh. You went to the bathroom to wash and to get ready for school.

You stopped in front of the mirror to look at yourself in the mirror. You have now dark circles under your once beautiful eyes. Your lips that was once red, has now turned pale. Your collar bone is more prominent now, meaning you got thin, again. Tear is starting to form in your eyes, feeling sorry for yourself.

You wiped your tears, forced a smile before hopping inside the shower.

After getting dressed, you didn't even bother to eat breakfast. You text Billie that your on the way to school asking her if you'll pick her up. She replied, texting a simple "no, I'm busy". You just shrugged it off, convincing yourself that she's really busy.

You drived to your school listening to Joji's song, Sanctuary. You sang it all the way through the school.

"If you've been waiting for falling in love, babe you don't have to wait on me.

'Cause I've been aiming for heaven above, but an angel ain't what I need."

You parked your car and hopped outside, making your way inside the campus.

Billie and you doesn't have classes together, you only meet at lunch time in the cafeteria.

You settled down on your chair, getting ready for the first subject.

*Lunch break*

You grabbed a carton of juice and a decent salad, looking for a seat. You waited for her to show up, but she didn't.

Minutes has passed. Still no Billie to be found. You sighed, unable to eat. You kept texting her for the past minutes, but she didn't replied.

Just then, you saw her friend. You rushed to meet her.

"Hey. Have you uhm, seen Billie?" you asked.

"Yeah. I just saw her going in the back of the hall earlier. Haven't you met her?" she said, confused.

"Well no but, thank you so much for telling me. Enjoy your lunch." you smiled and she nodded in response.

You walked towards to the back of the hall, and there you heard voices as you got nearer and nearer.

"You know Billie, she clearly doesn't deserve you." a woman's voice said. You tried to be quiet as possible, wanting to hear more.

"Yeah. She don't. I didn't even know why did I date her. I felt nothing when I'm with her. I know that I've just wasted my time, when I should be hanging around with you, Laura." she responded, and a tear slipped from your eye.

You peered and there you saw them, Billie staring at Laura, the popular girl in school. Then suddenly, they kissed. This breaks your heart more. You can't bear to see them sucking each others faces, so you ran away from them.

You ran towards the women's bathroom and you got inside the cubicle. You broke down to tears, finding it hard to breathe. After all the words she said. You meant nothing to her. She said that she wasted her time to you.

You can't stop sobbing, eyes starting to get red. It hurts so much, knowing you love her so much, that you're willing to sacrifice anything for her. But you're wrong. Your chest is like being pricked with needles. The feeling of anger, sadness, and betrayal is building inside you.

You can't put up with this anymore. You took a deep breath, wiping the tears from your eyes before getting up from your current position.

You opened the cubicle door, and you saw your reflection in the mirror. You're so tirer of seeing the sad you, and you wanted to change for the better. So you splashed water in your face, and you took a deep breath once again. You smiled before going out from the bathroom.

"It's time to move on, the new life awaits me."

You got back from the class, wanting to study hard and to get back on track.

You're going to change. You are going to be better.

--

After that day, you broke up with Billie. She acted as if though she doesn't want to lose you. You told her everything, leaving her shocked. After that, you felt relieved and even more alive knowing that your not locked up anymore.

You changed by making your grades go up again. You learned to love yourself and did a great make over, making everyone love you in your campus. Laura was thrown off from her position, making you the new popular person in school. You are quite happy, and you never been this happy in your life.

Billie apologized after a month and you accepted it, but you don't want her back in your life anymore. You don't want to be with her again, and it's for the best.

Being happy and being able to love yourself more is the best feeling in the world. Who knew being alone and content isn't bad as you thought?
