A body layed at the bottom of the ocean floor, the soft grains of sand gently scraping against the body's skin. Cold water soaked the body, leaving their hair drooped over their eyes. The body slowly drifted with the current, leaving dents in the sand, only to be washed away. Although underwater, the figure was gently breathing, small bubbles escaping their mouth and nose. Their chest moved slightly up and down with each soft breath.

A black figure swiftly glided through the air with ease, close to the ocean. Water sprayed the figure as the speed lifted the water below them. This figure was Toothless. His rider sat on top of the large black dragon, his prosthetic foot connecting to a metal stirrup which then connected to Toothless' red prosthetic tailfin.

Hiccup's two forest green eyes peered below into the depths of the ocean. The sea was clear and he was able to see everything below the surface. Hiccup caught the sight of a figure underwater. He quickly pulled up on Toothless' saddle and the dragon immediately stopped. A figure was at the bottom of the ocean, gently being pushed by the ocean's current.

Hiccup blinked to make sure he wasn't seeing things, but the figure was still there. "Dive down bud," Hiccup demanded Toothless. The said Night Fury immediately complied and dove into the water. Although Hiccup's vision was blurred, he could still see blonde hair catching the sand. The hair connected to a body, but not just any body, it was Astrid's.

Hiccup knew that not even Astrid could survive being underwater for hours. He wanted to go and get her but he knew it would risk his and Toothless' life. It was way too deep and the pressure would be too strong, let alone being able to hold their breath for that long. Hiccup looked down in sorrow, knowing she was gone.

Hiccup once again tugged up on Toothless' saddle and flew up, back into the open air. His last hope was crushed. With tears running down his face, hair drooped over his eyes, he headed back to Dragon's Edge to inform the others of the upsetting news.

The blonde-haired body slowly arose as the shore came by. A wave lifted the body and lifted it onto the sandy land that connected the ocean and an island. A few minutes passed and the body began to open their eyes. Of course, the body was Astrid.

She lifted her hand over her eyes to cover the sun until she could see properly. Astrid slowly lifted herself up, using her arms to support her body weight. The waves crashed subtly against the shore as sand was captured, entering the ocean. A clear sky was seen above her as the sun shone bright against the yellow grains of sand. A small cliff hung over the shore, creating a shadow Astrid was in.

Astrid was confused as to how she got onto this mysterious island. She racked her brain, trying to remember how she got there. Then, the memories of the previous night flashed past her eyes. Lightning electrocuting her. Falling. Collapsing into the ocean. Darkness.

The blonde-haired woman knew she should've died. 'How did I survive?' was a question that continuously repeated in her head. She should've drowned and she knew it. She slowly started to stand up, ignoring the pain that zapped through her entire body. Her head throbbed but she didn't care. She needed to know where she was and how she survived.

Maybe? No. That wasn't possible. But it was the only explanation. Despite her fear of death, Astrid dove into the cold ocean. Her shivering body didn't bother her, the only thing that did was the fact she wasn't drowning. Bubbles formed out through her nose and mouth as she breathed out. She slowly breathed in, water entering her lungs, but she wasn't choking. She could breathe underwater? No way. Astrid's eyes widened when she realised how she survived.

'Maybe it was the lightning?' she thought to herself. 'Do I have any other powers?' she questioned herself. She felt different, she knew something had changed inside of her. She swam swiftly above the water, faster than she had ever swam before. The blonde-haired woman caught sight of the shore amd swam over to it so she could stand on land.

She reached the shore and pulled herself up, out of breath. Slowly, she stood up on the sandy surface and lifted her hands, looking at them. A feeling zapped throughout her, like an electric current going through her body. The feeling reached her hands and a small zigzag of lightning erupted from her them. This was a foreign concept for Astrid and it shocked her. She jumped and fell on the ground. Astrid had never heard of anything like this.

A small necklace with a lightning ornament on it formed in Astrid's right hand. She stared at it for a few seconds before slowly putting the necklace on. She clipped it around her neck and although the sky was clear, lightning struck the ornament, making it glow a bright blue before the glow started to die down.

The blonde-haired woman had no idea what to do. She had powers? Astrid felt as though she was stronger and more powerful. She spotted a tree, nowhere near any other flammable objects. She lifted her left hand and aimed it at the wood. A bang erupted through the air as lightning pierced through the sky, hitting the tree and bursting it into flames. It hurt a bit due to the backlash but she was used to feeling this type of pain.

Although Astrid was confused, she loved it. A feeling she had never felt before surging through her. She wondered if she had any other newly developed powers. If so, she had to find them all and learn how to use them.

All of a sudden, the ground shook beneath her feet, making her fall over. Fire and smoke erupted from the cliff above her. Astrid quickly got up and looked over to where all the commotion was. Fire was spread across a village. People were screaming and shouting in fear. The blonde-haired woman looked at her hands then back at the village, furrowing her eyebrows. With her new found powers, she knew she had to do something.

My second chapter for this story. A bit shorter than my first but I don't know what else to write in this chapter.
Even though people aren't really reading this, I'm enjoying writing it so I will publish these chapters anyway.
