Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters except for a couple of my OC's.

A/N: Hey guys, it took like, 10 years for my to get this chapter up but it's done! Just got a few things to mention. In the last chapter, I said Eydis had a messy bun but it's more like a half bun half down kind of thing. Also, in the first chapter, I said Astrid had a lightning bolt necklace, but she doesn't it's a blue glowing gem. Sorry for those mistakes I'll change them when I finish this story :)

==================

The ocean was calm, small waves lapping on the shore. The sound of fire still burning quietly filled the air. Few trees were seen on the island since the mayhem. Embers and smoke were still seen, despite it being half an hour since that guy named 'Einar' appeared. His face... scar covering one eye, his mouth masked, that was what Astrid saw every time she closed her eyes, even just to blink.

The boy. He looked only 10 years old. His eyes reflected fear. Knife dangerously close to his neck. The image haunted Astrid. There was nothing she could do to help, yet she felt maybe there was. Despite these thoughts and images, she had to get back to The Edge. She didn't know how to, but she knew she had to.

==================

Muffled voices surrounded him. His head throbbed. Despite his best efforts to move or even open his eyes, he couldn't. He was weak. Helpless. He felt a hand touch his shoulder. It was exceedingly painful, but he couldn't do anything to stop the agony. A little strength shot through him, just enough to open his eyes. A blurry figure that looked like a brown mop appeared in front of him. Everything was a blur. It looked like he was in a hut or something and fire seemed to be burning.

He couldn't remember anything. Well, except for the flashing images of darkness and fire. The smell of smoke and the smell of a musty cell. Slowly, his sight started to clear. Head still aching, he used all the strength inside himself to sit. 7 people stood beside him; their voices faint due to the ringing in his ears.

He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. His throat was dry, he couldn't say a single word. He saw a cup of water in front of him, being held out by someone. Slowly, he reached for the cup, grabbing ahold of it. Gradually, he brought it up to his mouth and took a small sip. The water was like magic. His once aching head slowly became less painful, his ears were still ringing but not as much, and his dry throat was no longer dry.

Looking around at his surroundings, he saw the inside of a hut. It had a staircase; the bottom floor was filled with amazing inventions and a fireplace was burning. He looked back at the people, there were twins, either 2 girls or 2 boys, he couldn't tell. There were 2 other guys that looked like they could be related somehow, maybe cousins. Then there were 2 other girls. One with hair that looked like a raven and another with their hair in a bun... He could recognise that girl with a bun. He couldn't remember where, but he was sure he remembered that face.

The man with mop-like hair began speaking.

"Hello," the man greeted.

"Hi..." the boy replied timidly.

"What's your name?" the man asked.

"Sigurd... I think," the boy responded.

"I'm Hiccup. Do you remember what happened?" the man asked.

"No," he replied blandly.

One of the twins suddenly shouted; "You suddenly appeared in our clubhouse and there was lightning everywhere! It was so cool! Definitely not something my sister Ruffnut could do!"

"Hey, you don't know Tuff! I've never tried! It was epic though can you do it again?!" Ruffnut screamed.

"Yeah, are you Thor's son or something?!" Tuff shouted.

The raven-haired girl began talking; "Guys, stop, Sigurd is probably confused and maybe afraid, you're not helping. My name is Heather by the way."

Sigurd slowly turned to face everyone then dangled his legs over the bed, feet only just sitting flat on the wooden floorboards.

"Okay, okay," Tuff replied. "But I gotta say, nice necklace S."

Sigurd looks down and there, around his neck, was a necklace. A black necklace with a blue gem attached to it. Then he remembered. The village was on fire... a girl, blonde hair and blue eyes were wearing it. 'How did I get this?' he thought suspiciously. The man... Einar he thought his name was. Einar grabbed Sigurd and put a knife to his throat. Not long after that Einar teleported, taking Sigurd with him. That's as far as he could remember.

"I-It's not mine. I don't know how I got it, it was this girl's," Sigurd stated.

"The girl's?" Hiccup questioned.

"Y-yeah... Blonde hair, blue eyes. Looked around your age," Sigurd responded.

"Did she say her name?" he asked with hope in his eyes.

"If she did... I don't remember. Sorry," Sigurd replied apologetically.

"It's okay, it's probably not her anyway," Hiccup said sadly.

There was a deadly silence in the room for what seemed like forever until Sigurd broke the silence.

"My village was overtaken by this man... Einar I believe his name was. I don't know exactly what happened, but the man had a dagger to my throat. He teleported and he took me with him. I have no idea what happened after that though. Somehow, I got the girl's necklace," Sigurd said while looking at the gem on the necklace in his hand.

Everyone noticed Eydis bow her head sorrow. She looked broken. Eyes that could kill and fists clenched.

"Einar... I knew he'd go stirring up trouble in only a few hours," Eydis said through clenched teeth, still looking down. When she looked up, everyone looked utterly confused. Eydis sighed and continued explaining; "Einar is a powerful villain with no mercy. He has a necklace just like this and it gives him fire powers. The longer someone has their powers the more powerful they become. Einar has had his powers for more than 5 years, making him more powerful than anyone on this Earth. There are 4 necklaces. The different coloured gems symbolise what power they have. Green is earth, blue is electricity and water, yellow is light and red is fire. Somehow, Einar got a hold of that necklace but for some reason, he gave it to Sigurd."

A Snotlout and the twins still had no idea what Eydis was on about and just stared blankly at her.

"How do people get the necklaces?" Heather asked.

"I'm not sure, they are chosen at random and strange things happen to them. With me, I got blinded by the sun when I woke up one morning. I opened my eyes and looked right at the sun and got blinded. A few hours passed and I was fine, I looked down and I saw this necklace," Eydis replied.

Hiccup had his thinking face on, wondering what to do.

"Well, if this 'Einar' guy is destroying villages and ruining lives, we need to do something about it," Hiccup stated.
