Three years ago

Taehyung kept kicking the dirt under his feet as he walked with Dahyun. Dahyun was humming a song, unknowledgeable that something has been bothering Taehyung.

"Dahyun," he finally called as he halted his steps.

Dahyun turned to him and smiled, "Yes?"

"T-That..." Taehyung said as he averted his gaze. "I... I heard that someone confessed to you today."

Dahyun chuckled, "So?"

"It's not fair," Taehyung sighed.

Dahyun was miles away from the definition of feminine – she would always tie her hair in a simple ponytail; she would always wear a simple, and sometimes oversized, shirt with some baggy pants. Those would be the best that she could do to fix her appearance because she was the type to care less of what she looked like.

"What do you mean it's not fair?" Dahyun argued, "You also have girls confessing to you!"

"But – " Taehyung said but found no words to continue.

"Are you worried that I'll be gone?" Dahyun beamed mischievously.

But Taehyung merely replied with a stare.

Dahyun chortled, "Don't worry! You'll always be my number one."

A smile grazed upon Taehyung's lips as Dahyun interlinked their arms together.

"So what was your answer?" he asked as they resumed walking.

Dahyun shook her head, "No chance. I feel bad for the boy, though."

Happiness swelled in his heart. But he chose to mask it and say, "Maybe you're going to regret it. It's difficult finding boys who likes boyish girls."

Dahyun smiled and looked down, "Maybe."

"Oh!" Taehyung exclaimed, "Are you regretting it now?"

Dahyun sighed, "I think it's not difficult at all. I found one who can keep up to my boyish attitude."

"And who is that?" he frowned.

Dahyun smiled cheekily, "You!"

Taehyung hissed as he beamed back.

Taehyung felt someone shaking his body and he opened his eyes to see the older version of the girl in his dreams. He almost thought that he was back to their childhood.

"Get up, Taehyung!"

"It's a weekend. I can sleep no matter how long," Taehyung complained as he closed his eyes once more. He wished that the girl would turn sweet like the one in his memory.

How did my childhood friend turned out to be someone who had no hobby but to annoy me?

"Yah! Our family is going out today!" Dahyun yelled at his ear.

Taehyung said nothing but covered his ear with a pillow.

"You won't get up?!"

She looked around his room and smiled when her eyes caught something. As Taehyung felt that there was some added weight on his bed, he slightly opened his eyes to find Dahyun with a mischievous smile and a marker in her hand.

He removed the pillow from his ears and threw it to her, but Dahyun dodged it.

"What are you doing?" he asked as he widened his eyes.
