Arc 1: Chapter One: One Wish

Hey, how did we, how did we
How did we end up at your place?

When Lucy awoke that morning, as soon as she got on her Instagram, she was met with tons of birthday wishes, but she only looked at the ones that came from her best of friends.

After scrolling through instagram a bit, she stopped on a picture. A picture of her ex, Natsu Dragneel. Many women envy her because she had him, and gave him up, but only because he was an ass who didn't care, and treated her wrong. But she couldn't deny, that little immature playboy from college was now a grown man, who was also the CEO of his own company.

Everyone, including her her friends, are mad she left him, and she can't deny, she herself even wanted him back. Not because of his money though, because he treated all his new girls better than her.

"Ha, proves you still like him." Says a voice making Lucy jump.

"Didn't mean to scare you Lu, but Aquarius let us in." Says Levy. "Wow, I'll thank her later," Says Lucy sitting up in her bed.

"Hurry up and get dressed so we can go!" Says Mira pulling her up.

"What? Where are we going?" Asks Lucy. "Ha, your so forgetful Lu. Remember? Brunch with everyone? We were supposed to go to dinner but your dads throwing you an extravagant birthday party since your twenty five." Says Levy. "Oh yeah! I'll be down in ten!" Says Lucy running into the bathroom and the girls take this as cue to go downstairs.

After thirty minutes Lucy came downstairs and they decided to head out. "You said ten minutes, now we're late." Says Levy. "You know ten minutes means thirty, and thirty means an hour. Your my best friend Lev your supposed to know these things."

As soon they arrived, they were met with the rest of their friend group and they began to head into the restaurant.

"It took you forever like always Lucy." Jokes Gray. "I overslept, and then I took ten minutes to get ready."

"Juvia's sure what Lucy means by ten minutes is thirty."

"You know me so well." Says Lucy with a smile.

Lucy friends were kind of grouped up, as in all of them were in a relationship. Levy and Gajeel go out, Gray and Juvia, Laxus and Mira, Erza And Jellal, basically all of them except for Cana.

"Lucy, you look a little lovesick for Natsu huh?" Asks Cana, Who was sipping on her glass of wine only at 12:30.

"W-What? No w-way." Says Lucy, a blush appearing upon her face. "Hm, sure. We all know your head over heels for, one of the richest men in the world." Says Mira in a dramatic voice.

"I'm richer," scoffs Gray causing everyone to laugh while Gajeel and Laxus mumble about being richer than him.

"It doesn't matter whose richer you guys." Says Lucy as she checks the time and immediately jumps up.

"Holy shit! It's 1:30! Sorry guys I gotta go! Dad will yell again if I'm not in makeup and dressing by two. Make sure you guys come to my birthday ball tonight bye!" Says Lucy quickly running away.

"She's always in such a hurry..." trails off Erza.

~Night~

"You look beautiful Ms Lucy," Says her maid Virgo as Lucy sat in her long light pink dress that showed off a slit of leg. She wore matching pink heels and earrings, and instead of her usual ponytails her hair was all day, elegantly, and for once she was glad she grew her hair out since it was to her waist.

"Thank you...is dad almost done with the introductions." Asks Lucy. "Of course not. He likes to overdo himself." Speaks up Aquarius before turning to Lucy.

"Your still a brat but, I'm sure your mother would love to see you turn 25," Says Aquarius and Lucy's smile brightens as she gives the girl a hug that makes Aquarius feel awkward, but she doesn't mind after awhile.

"Thanks Aquarius. I should get going, dad called me," Says Lucy as she breathes in.

Everyone claps for her when she comes out, and Lucy smiles when she sees her friends and throws them a quick wave.

"I offer my daughters first dance of the night to my most worthy business partner, Natsu Dragneel."

Lucy widens her eyes. Natsu? Dragneel? Did she hear that correctly? Because maybe she needed her ears checked-"

"May I have this dance Ms. Heartfilia?" He Asks, and seeing him in person made her heart melt.

Lucy clears her throat to gain her composure. He's doing this for my father's money. She reminded herself. He was invited every year as a business partner to her birthday parties, but he never came. What made this year different?

"You May," Says Lucy taking his hand.

They dance in silence for a bit before Natsu Speaks up. "I see you've written yourself a book. Right after high school. How was it?" Asks Natsu, trying to make small talk.

"It was fun, and the book did well. I'm currently trying to work on getting it to a movie." She Responds as he spins her.

"I don't recall you dancing this well," Says Lucy. Natsu smiles. "Well, since I'm one of the richest men in the world, getting better was a given."

"Gray still thinks he's richer than you. So does Laxus and Gajeel." Says Lucy earning a frown from Natsu, as he goes to her ear to whisper. "But you know I'm richer than them." He Says, And his husky voice sends shivers down her spine.

"Ha! You should see your face!" He says laughing, and Lucy regains her composure. He still was immature.

"Very funny Dragneel." She Says with an eye roll as the music ends.

"It was nice to see you again," Says Natsu. "You two," Says Lucy as she walks away to meet up with her friends.

"Woah, you secretly dating Natsu? Again?" Asks Levy. "Nope. Just my dads antics. Pretty sure he wants us together, but only for his fame."

"You should go along with his plan, it's not like you don't want him." Says Erza. "True, and he's single. No girl at the moment. Make your movie Lucy," says Mira, who already had a plan in her head.

"Juvia agrees. It's easy to tell how much you care for each other in your eyes."

And Lucy's eyes meet his again, and it's like all time stops. Those sparks. She tells herself and gets back to her girls.

"Let's just dance? Please? And maybe hit up the bar?" She asks, and her friends agreed even though they knew she was trying to change the subject.

After more dancing and drinking, it was time for the cake cutting, which was a tradition in Lucy's family. After most of the unknown guest left, all her friends and family sat around the table and sang happy birthday to her.

"Make a wish," calls out Cana.

And Lucy takes the whole day in.

She remembered the brunch, getting ready for her party, the amazing words Aquarius said, and then Natsu. Even though he was only in a slimmer of her day, he was in her mind the whole time.

If she could wish for anything. Anything.

It'd be that her and Natsu had never broke up.
