Let Her Go

"Adora, I know she's your best friend. But may I remind you that she has tried to kill both you and me, including Bow and the rest of the rebellion, many times. She left you to die back at the temple, and yet after all of that, you still want her to be part of the rebellion?" Glimmer inquired.

Adora knew that Glimmer had a valid point, but this was her first ever best friend they were talking about, and she knew that Catra had a good side to her as well. Hell, she was the only person, besides Scorpia (somewhat), to actually see Catra's good side. But her being with the Horde, really isn't helping Catra's good side show.

The blonde nodded her head with confidence, "I just need to convince her that the Horde isn't where she belongs."

Glimmer sighed heavily and turned her head to look at Bow, who was sitting to her left. "Bow what do you think?" She asked.

"I have mixed feelings about this, I mean she did try to kill us many times, but this is Adora's first best friend if I am correct." Bow said, shrugging his shoulders with a puzzled look. He was really thinking hard about this.

"Well here's what I think, I think that you should let her go Adora." Glimmer said in a serious tone.

Both Adora and bow had shocked faces as they stared at Glimmer for a moment, Bow being the first one to speak.

"Glimmer! Come on! Maybe we should give Adora a chance to convince Catra to join us, imagine what a valuable addition she would be to the rebellion! Not only is she cunning and has a great mindset on the battle field, but she's an amazing fighter!" Bow protested.

Adora smiled, grateful that she had someone on her side. Plus, Bow did have a point.

Glimmer seemed to have thought about changing her mind, but that moment only lasted for a couple of seconds before she shook her head.

"Adora has given Catra plenty of opportunities to join the rebellion and she still chose the Horde! End of discussion!" Glimmer said, her voice rising a bit.

The room was silent for a long time, what was really only a few long minutes felt like a few long hours as the three best friends sat around each other on the floor. Adora sighed before getting up and dismissing herself to her room.

Once Adora closed the door, Bow turned to Glimmer with a disappointed expression. Glimmer, however, had her arms crossed and her head turned away from the archer.

"Glimmer, seriously! What was that?" Bow exclaimed.

"I have my reasons Bow! What if Adora gets hurt because of that Horde scum? I hate seeing Adora hurt." Glimmer replied in a lower tone, her head still turned from the boy.

Bow sighed and nodded his head in agreement, "I hate seeing Adora hurt too Glimmer. I'm her best friend as well but as her best friend, you have to trust her at times like this. And I'm going  to put my trust in the fact that she will be fine, she is She-ra after all." He said with a small laugh.

Glimmer laughed as well and gave a soft sigh afterwards, "The most we can do is hope that she can really convince Catra to join us, ever since we defeated the Horde after that battle she's been out of it from time to time." Glimmer spoke.

Bow smiled and wrapped an arm around the princess, giving her a cheeky smile that she happily returned as they both still sat on the floor.

Adora rested her head in her hands while her elbows rested comfortably on the large window frame, her pale blue eyes gazing over to the still frozen over Whispering woods.

"Let her go Adora."

Glimmer's words ringed in her head constantly as she stood there by the window. How could she possibly just let Catra go? She tried to after Catra left her back in the temple, but she couldn't, and even after the battle.

She couldn't explain it, but she felt something for the feline, even before she left the Horde. She felt different when she was around Catra, and not just because they were childhood best friends. Compared to how she felt when she was with Bow and Glimmer to the Magicat, it was very different. She would have to talk to Bow about it sometime.

"Where were you? You had me worried sick! Are you hurt? Do you need to be tenderly nursed back to health? What happened!" Scorpia said rather quickly.

Catra had arrived back to the Fright Zone by early morning, and after she put the skiff back where it belonged and found Scorpia and Entrapta, she was immediately bombarded with questions by the white haired woman.

"Scorpia, for the last time. I. Am. Fine. I just went out for a bit." Catra said, not feeling the need to really explain herself in detail as to where she had been most of the night.

She then ignored Scorpia as she continued to ask her questions, instead she turned towards Entrapta, who as clanking away at her newest invention.

"Entrapta, how's that new weapon coming?" Catra said.

"This is just a prototype of the real thing, I have to test it first before I can make more copies of this bad boy!' Entrapta exclaimed.

"Good, because in a less than two weeks, we're going to need them." Catra said, a sly smirk on her lips.

That caught Scorpia's attention as she finally stoped bombarding Catra with questions, and instead asked, "Uh, what are needing them so soon for?"

"To destroy the rebellion of course! What else? Hardak wants us to launch another attack on Brightmoon." Catra explained, as if it was the most obvious answer in the world.

Scorpia's eyes widened, "Already? How bad does he need their runestone?"

"As soon as possible, and I refuse to let him down. So get to work!" The ordered.

Both Scorpia and Entrapta made a salute hand motion towards the force captain and went to go and do as they were ordered. Scorpia running off to do only Etheria knows what.

Catra decided to do something useful and plan a way to get to Brightmoon without being spotted. A sneak attack is the best way to approach, especially with the Whispering woods being frozen over.

She smirked to herself and went off to start planning.

It was now nighttime, and Catra was once again sitting on Adora's torn up bed. Her mind occupied on what Adora had said to her before Sparkles came into the room unannounced.

She couldn't really leave the Horde like Adora did, especially now that she was rising in the ranks and showing just how strong she is to everyone that had ever doubted her. And even if she did, where would she go? Adora did offer her a place to stay in the castle, but Catra felt as though she would only be a burden, especially with how Adora had two different best friends now as well.

She felt like her jealously would get the best of her and she would mess up. Besides, the Horde was her first ever real home. She was sure she had a home long before she became part of the Horde, but she couldn't remember; she was taken into the Horde at a young age, so anything before that she couldn't remember.

She shook away those thoughts and -once again- reminded herself that Adora was, not only her enemy, but the Horde's as well. She was supposed to hate her for leaving, she was supposed to destroy her.

She did hate her for leaving, and she did want to destroy her, but a sudden thought occurred to her.

"Is this really what I want? To be with the Horde instead of by Adora's side again? Do I really want to destroy her?"

Catra thought long and hard about it before she scowled, her subconscious thoughts confirmed themselves.

"Of course I do."
