Betty already had her second cup of coffee before Jughead had even arrived this morning. She'd woken up at 3:30 and Jughead would be here any minute. Betty decided to leave her hair down in blonde curls, it was always more fun to feel the wind in her hair when she used to go motorcycling.

Betty wore some dark wash jeans, a white shirt and, after much debate, wore her leather Serpent jacket. She'd applied some faint red lipstick to complete the look, Betty had spent a little too much time staring at her reflection. She looked so young, so much like the girl she used to be. Her stomach fluttered at the thought of the ride and that it would be just her and Jughead, alone. No work or worrying about her daughter, it would just be the two of them, just like old times.

She heard the rumbling sound of the engine outside and Betty poured the last of her coffee into the travel mug and met Jughead outside. He was wearing his Serpent jacket too, and the same dark wash jeans. Betty felt her cheeks warm up and was glad the darkened morning light masked her blush.

"Hey Jug, thanks again for doing this."

"We haven't even left the driveway yet." He teased her as she approached him.

"I already know we are going to have a great time." Betty smiled as she stopped beside him.

Jughead tried to contain himself from doing something drastic as he took in the sight of the beautiful woman standing beside his bike. She looked amazing, her hair was down, her jeans perfectly hugged her figure and the Serpent jacket made Jughead bite his lip to disguise his smile, the fact that she wore it out meant she hadn't tried to forget or hide who she really was.

"You look great Betts, the jacket still looks great on you." He complimented.

Betty smiled at the ground and bit her lip nervously. "Thanks, should we get going?"

"Uh...yeah. Hop on." Jughead stuttered, his heart skipped a beat when he felt Betty's arms cautiously wrap around his torso.

"Ready to go?" He asked as his throat dried up.

"Yes, let's go." Betty said with a wild grin as he revved the engine and the two of them sped off into the morning light.

Betty cheered and whooped as they sped down the highway and twists and turns of the road in the forest. She laughed and even put her hands up in the air.

Jughead was happy that she couldn't see him smile at her throughout the ride. Especially when he went over a bump by mistake, he secretly enjoyed it when she'd tightened her grip around him and also buried her head into his shoulder.

As they drove up the windy road, they both noticed the sky was beginning to change from its inky blackness into soft pinks and oranges; indicating that the sun was starting to rise.

The road ended at a clearing at the very top of the hill. It was like someone decades ago had come up to the top of Sweetwater Hill and cleared all pine trees facing the town and the woods beyond it, wanting this spot to be discovered by those who loved exploring and adventure.

The view below was breathtaking, Betty almost forgot how breathe as she took in the sight before her. The flickering lights from the town of Riverdale looking like tiny fireflies in the distance. The endless vast of pine trees encircled the whole town and as far as the eye could see. "Wow," Betty gasped, getting off the motorcycle in a trance as she made her way towards the fence at the edge of the cliff.

The twinkling stars were fading from the morning light and golden glow of the rising sun began to paint the tops of the pine trees. "I almost forgot how beautiful this was." Betty whispered to herself, feeling her hands rest upon the old wooden fence posts, preventing her from falling off the edge.
