Betty woke up and her heart sank when she noticed that Jughead wasn't there beside her. The last thing she remembered was rocking back and forth in his embrace and the next thing she knew, she was asleep in her bed.Betty rolled to the left and saw a note on her nightstand. Feeling a grin creep across her face, she opened the note and bit her lip to keep herself from squealing with delight.
Good morning Betts, my offer still stands if you need a place to stay. I'll have my house ready by eight if you two still want to stay with me. I hope I'll see you shortly.
~JugheadBetty leaped out of bed and grabbed her suitcase, it was so cute how nervous he sounded in his letter. Of course she'd still take him up on his offer, she wasn't crazy, and she knew Juliet would love this idea.
Betty crept into Juliet's room and gently shook her awake. "Jules, Jules I've got a surprise for you." Betty whispered with a giddy grin on her face.
"What mommy?" Juliet moaned and lazily opened her sleepy eyes.
"Pack your suitcase, we're moving again."
"Why? I like it here." Juliet sounded more awake but she needed one more push.
"You remember us talking yesterday?"
"About what?" Juliet yawned.
"You asked me if I was going to live with Jughead."
Hope ignited in her deep blue eyes. "We are living with daddy?"
"Yes, and he's waiting for us at his house, we're going to stay with Jughead for a while."
Juliet shot out of bed, "we're living with daddy?! We get to live with daddy forever!?"
"Not forever, just for a little while sweetie, now come on, let's get you packed, but be quiet ok?" Betty said in a hushed tone.
"Ok." Juliet whispered, soaring out of bed and grabbing her suitcase, filling it with her clothes and toys.
Betty helped her daughter get her things together and Juliet ran as quickly and quietly as she could through the house and into the car, leaving Betty behind to lug their suitcases.
At exactly eight o'clock, Betty backed out of the driveway and drove towards Jughead's house, all after sending him a text, saying they were on their way.
"Mommy?"
"Yes sweetie?"
"I'm not mad but why are we going to live with daddy?" Her curious eyes met Betty's in the rear view mirror.
Betty took a deep breath, "well sweetheart, grandma and I got into a fight and I told Jughead about it. And he offered us his house until I'm done with work, then we will move back to New York. But make sure you tell him thank you for letting us stay with him. This was very nice of him to do." Betty told her anxious daughter who was bouncing around in her car seat like she'd just chugged a ton of caffeine.
"Oh, are you and grandma going to say sorry?" Betty swore internally at how well she'd taught her daughter about having good morals and always being nice to people.
"We will soon, I just want to give her some space before we both apologize."
"What were you and grandma fighting about?"
"Oh look we're here!" Betty announced, thankful to change the subject.
And just like that, Juliet had completely forgotten what they were previously talking about. Jughead's house was still neatly kept. The hedges perfectly trimmed, the deck cleared of everything except the porch swing. The yard perfectly mowed, and the sounds of a motorcycle coming from the garage in his backyard.
