I blinked as I stared at the space around me in awe. I could see thousands of stars burning brightly and winking at me. Realistically, I knew that they were only winking because of the great distance between them and me, but even so, I couldn't stop myself from feeling like they were just pixie dust decorating the dark landscape. "Now do you believe me?" I glanced over at the Doctor, who was holding my Sister's ankle as she floated outside his spaceship.
Once Amy was safely back inside, she had an exhilarated grin on her face as she looked at him. "Okay, your box is a spaceship. It's really, really a spaceship. We are in space! What are we breathing?"
"I've extended the air shell. We're fine," The Doctor assured us with a grin. I turned back to the scene just outside the doors and inched so I was barely balanced in the spaceship, my body hanging out as my hands gripped the walls for support. "Now that's interesting. Twenty-ninth century. Solar flares roast the earth, and the entire human race packs its bags and moves out till the weather improves. Whole nations." I hear him speak but it's getting slightly more distant.
I wasn't worried until the doors shut, leaving me clutching on the outside of the Police Box in space. "Doctor?" I called in concern, "Amy?" No one answered me. I swear to god if they take off and leave me here I will haunt them. "Doctor?" I tried again, my voice slightly higher in pitch. When the door still didn't open, I lost my patience, "Doctor!" I shouted angrily.
The doors pull open and I come face to face with the Doctor and my sister, who is giggling at my situation. "Well, come on. I've found us a spaceship," He told me, acting as though I was a child who fell behind the group. I narrowed my eyes at him but took his hand and let him help me into the ship.
"This is the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland. All of it bolted together and floating in the sky. Starship UK. It's Britain, but metal. That's not just a ship, that's an idea. That's a whole country, living and laughing and shopping. Searching the stars for a new home." He explained to us as we viewed the ship on the monitor.
"Can we go out and see?" Amy and I asked at the same time.
"You two are just doing that cause you can now," He accused us, tapping my nose admonishingly. "Course we can. But first, there's a thing." He answered us.
We looked at him in confusion, crossing our arms. "A thing?" Amy asked.
"An important thing. In fact, Thing One. We are observers only. That's the one rule I've always stuck to in all my travels. I never get involved in the affairs of other peoples or planets." He explained to us.
I snorted and looked at him. I was a good 99 percent certain that humans are qualified under other peoples and Earth was not his home planet. Thing one seemed to be more of an under the best circumstances and if there is nothing interesting whatsoever going on I will just observe guideline.
"Ooo, that's interesting." He said, looking at the monitor where we saw a little girl crying.
This spaceship just got interesting, I had a feeling we were going to be interfering.
"So we're like a wildlife documentary, yeah? Because if they see a wounded little cub or something, they can't just save it, they've got to keep filming and let it die. It's got to be hard. I don't think I could do that. Don't you find that hard, being all, like, detached and cold?" Amy asked and we both looked over to find the Doctor gone. When we looked back at the monitor, we saw him speaking with the little girl.
"There goes thing one out the window." I joked slightly, both of us running out at his beckon.
"Welcome to London Market. You are being monitored." A voice said over a PA system. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around in confusion, trying to find cameras or something, but there wasn't anything. All I could see where these men in booths.
