Sara's POV

"Alright, Mr White you represent Mr de Beaumont and Ms Basic in this matter?"

I breathed anxiously through my nose, my hands shaking. We are here. We are really here in court.

In front of us was the judge. From the judge's point of view, we were in front of him, the two crazy women were to his right.

Silent prayers ran through my mind ever since we stepped into the courtroom.

I glanced at my fiance who reached for my hand and squeezed it.

I only prayed more and more.

Before

Michael tied his black tie prestigious as always, tucked it into his shirt and put on his jacket. Then my fiance turned to me, went around our bed and helped me button my white shirt.

He had watched me fumble with the buttons, but I was too nervous to be able to button them. My breaths were shaky.

"I've got you, Honey", he whispered and closed them quickly. He gave me a kiss on my forehead.

"Thank you bebo", I stuffed my shirt into the black pencil skirt and cuddled into him, hoping it would help me with my nerves. "I'm so worried and scared and anxious."

"Don't be. We'll go inside, say our thoughts and let the judge decide. Lucas said our odds are in favor and I always trust his words. We just have to keep to what Lucas said to us. Say the truth, don't let them rile you up with their questions, stay calm, breathe, and speak. We are the victims here. Nothing they could say could make us lose."

"Nothing?"

"Nothing", Michael spoke in a matter of fact. "What will they say? Their names are better for my company? So what? It's my choice who I love and what I do with my company."

I let that go through my head.

My fiance gave me a kiss on my lips. "It will be alright. I'll protect you."

"You always do", I whispered.

"It's my job", Michael winked. "And for you, I'll do anything."

"You always know how to ease my nerves", I breathed out deeply. "I'll pray and pray like crazy we get judged in favour."

Michael drew me into his arms. "We don't need luck on our side. We only need a sane man on the podium."

Lucas awaited us by the doors of the courtroom and shook our hands.

"Ready for today?", he asked.

Michael gave him a look and softly nudged me. I immediately straightened nervously. "W-We are. I think", my voice was growing quieter with each word.

Lucas laid a hand on my shoulder. "You don't need to be nervous. Everything will be fine, Sara. I'll make sure of it."

Veronique's high heels clattered from the distance. They got louder and louder, until Veronique passed us with her lawyer, not saying a word or batting an eyelash at us.

Eleanor was close, smiling brightly at the three of us. "The judge won't grant you shit", she peeped. "I'm innocent as can be after all."

She stalked inside with her lawyer. "Toodles!", she said over her back.
