Sara's POV

23rd of January

I can't believe it was our wedding today - yesterday had just blown by!

Yesterday's skating pre-wedding date and dinner had been a success with my guests, as well as for us. The music had put everybody in a party mood, the kids had been tired out which the parents thanked us for, the adults gathered in groups and skated among us. Emma took every opportunity to remind me how many times I had fallen onto the ice before, trying to make me stop holding onto Michael so I could fall again to amuse her, that little devil!

Michael and I had enjoyed our night thoroughly before we had to sleep in separate rooms for the big day. And now I was only a few steps away from my soon-to-be husband! It itched in my fingers to be close to him again!

I was beyond excited! I wished these preparations wouldn't take so long and that I could run down the aisle into his arms already!

"Time to stand up", Emma reminded me, tearing me out the beautiful memories of yesterday, especially as I swooned how his lips tasted against mine and how his rough hands held my hips possessively.

And at her words, I eagerly slipped into the dress.

My bridesmaids, Nina, Clarissa, Jess, Emma and my best friend from back home, helped me into the white dress and zipped it up for me.

A hair stylist curled my hair, which had grown slightly longer and now reached a bit over my shoulders, into loose curls and tugged back the two front pieces. Thankfully Noah hadn't destroyed my hair too much.

Mum came in with red eyes. She was dazzling in her night blue dress, but her makeup was ruined again, like mine so many times. She and I had been crying from the morning all day long. "I brought your veil and something old." She whispered, her lips shaking.

The hair stylist distanced herself so I could turn to see what mum held in her hands.

Gorgeous silver-white tear-shaped earrings glistened in the morning light of Gordes.

"I wore these on my wedding day", mum brushed my cheek lovingly. "And before that, your grandma and great-grandma wore them. Now we give it to the oldest girl in the family, and she passes it to her oldest girl."

I teared up at her story.

"No no no not again!", Emma shushed mum a bit away from me. "You'll ruin your makeup again and Sara doesn't have time to redo it!", she reminded us with a scolding voice. "The veil! Where's the veil!?", Emma cried over her shoulder.

Jess and Clarissa carried it to me, looking dazzling in their blush pink dresses.

I would say they were more beautiful than me, but if I said that out loud, all the women would try to talk sense into me. Michael had said yesterday to me I would be the prettiest woman today.

And honestly? When I looked into the mirror, I believed it! My face was shining with happiness.

The hair stylist fastened the long veil in my hair, and with that, I was finally ready. Four long hours of getting ready.

I got up with wobbly feet, my hands wet in excitement. I could finally see Michael!

 I could finally see Michael!
