Michael's POV

Lunch was quiet.

We sat across each other.

Sara had ordered some tacos and I had ordered a variety of seafood. We also shared some fries together.

My fiancée played with her food, her eyes gazing into the distance.

"Enough", I grumbled, tossing my napkin on the table.

That got her attention. She raised her head and said "Hmm?"

"I don't like this mood. I wanted to enjoy lunch with you", I reached across and took her hands. "Hey, look at me. I know it was hard what we saw in the end, but we can't do anything right now. All we can do is wait for the restraining order."

"We can't let her run around like that Michael", Sara's voice broke. "What if she ends up seriously hurting herself?"

"I know, I fear the same thing might happen, but all we can do now is to hope Angus comes to his senses and sends his daughter to a mental hospital. We can't do so, nor can we notify anybody without sounding suspicious. Trust me - I've tried. Over and over again."

"Are we really forced to stay by the side and ignore it?", Sara seemed even sadder now.

"What else can we do? Walk back into the company and risk her slitting your throat?", I asked now. "I won't let you go anywhere near her, she doesn't have good intentions for you."

Sara sighed deeply. I raised her hands to my mouth and kissed them.

"Listen - we'll tell the judge everything. If she shows any signs during the hearing, they will act. They have the power to. We do not. If Angus is really the smart man he claims to be, then he will quietly send Eleanor to get help before he lets it explode in court where everybody will know. It would have a worse impact on his name."

"That's true ...", Sara's eyes traveled into the distance again.

I pushed my chair next to hers. Sara's eyes fluttered to me in surprise.

I laid my arm around her. "Talk to me. What bothers you?"

"You really don't like it when I'm sad", Sara leaned her head on my shoulders. "Sorry I'm ruining the mood. I just keep thinking back to it."

"Me too. But I try to push it away so I can enjoy you. I don't care about her anymore, I care about you. Sure I care for her well-being, but I have a fiancée to look after."

I pointed to the food. "I wanted to drink some wine with you. Talk about the houses. Talk about our wedding. About your thoughts on the errand boy's expectations. On how Jess is trying to convince me you need a bachelorette's party and that she will hire me as your stripper."

Sara snorted with laughter. "Excuse me - what?"

"It's true. Black leather thongs and a police hat only - that's the outfit she's trying to convince me to wear for you."

Sara giggled now, shaking her head rapidly. "Nothing could turn me off less!"

I went close to her ear. "Even if I brought hand-cuffs?"

Sara chocked on the water she was drinking, bearing red cheeks.

"I love that we discovered that", I laughed.

Sara sat straighter now, the sadness disappearing from her face. "I did want to ask you", she looked around and leaned in closer. Four tables away there was another couple, vividly making out. Ah, to be young. "You commented about me piercing my breasts?"
