When we walk into the studio, the smell of kush hits me in the face. It smells so good.

"Wassup," a man says to Kimetrius, dapping him up.

"Hey man," Kimetrius says back, "you been smoking wit out us?" He laughs.

"Yeah a little bit. So I was working on sum melodies for your new song, come listen to them," he says to Kimetrius. The man sits in a chair. Skies sits in the chair next to them and pulls me into his lap.

"You can pick out which one you like the best ma," Kimetrius whispers in my ear.

There's a knock at the door. Lathan, DaeDae and JayShawn walk in with one other person behind them.

"Aye wassup Skies," Lathan says, dapping him up. JayShawn and DaeDae do the same.

"Wassup lil sis," Lathan says, bending down to give me a hug. I smile and hug him back. The other person stands behind Lathan, waiting to greet Skies.

"Wassup Skies," he says.

"Wassup Marcus," Kimetrius says, dapping him up.

"Hey Mel," they say to the man.

"Hey guys," he says back, "So what about this one?"

The first one plays, I don't like it too much. I guess Kimetrius notices my face.

"Nah, what about the next one?" He asks.

Mel nods his head and plays the next one. I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn my head to see a fat blunt in my face. I take it and inhale it. I can feel Skies eyes on me as I exhale. After a few puffs, I pass it to Kimetrius. I shake my head at the beat that was currently playing.

The next three ones are average. It's like I've heard them before.

"Okay, this is the last one," Mel says. He press play and we all sit back and listen. This one is different. Different melody, different beat, different background vocals. It was nice. I nod my head and Mel smiles.

"Great, we have a melody," he says, "have you been working on sum lyrics?"

Kimetrius nods and pulls out his phone. His lock screen is me. It's one I took on his phone. He posted it on Snapchat and on Instagram.

"So when you plan on going on tour man?" Lathan asks Kimetrius

"So when you plan on going on tour man?" Lathan asks Kimetrius.

"June or July, I don't know but I know before the summer is over," he answers.

He never told me he was gonna go on tour. I'm not gonna lie, I feel some type of way.

"I was gonna surprise you Malayah," Skies tells me, "I wanted you to come wit me."

"Really?" I ask smiling. I thought he didn't want me to know.

"Yea, will you?" He asks me.

"Of course," I say. He smiles, kissing my cheek.

"Okay so play the beat," Skies tells him.

He starts the beat

"Money comin in, people knowing that we lit
Do it fa the fam, we gonna die fa this shit
It's sum real ties when we pull up wit the clique
It ain't no surprise, they all love you when you're rich," Kimetrius raps. He stops and looks at us.

"That is so fire bro," DaeDae says dapping him up.

"Word," Jay says, laughing.

"Is that all you got?" Mel asks.

"Of course not nigga, I'm tryna figure out how to rap it. Replay the beat," Skies tells Mel.

He plays the beat for him and he mumbles the rap to himself. When the beat is over, he's finished rapping.

"Ight bet, get up real quick baby," Kimetrius tells me. I get off his lap and he gets into the booth. I sit back down. He puts the headphones on.

"Okay, I'm bout to play the beat Skies," Mel tells him. Skies nods his head.

"Yea, people knowing that we lit, nigga, they knowing that we lit, yea , yea, yea, money comin in, people knowing that we lit do it fa the fam, we gonna die fa this shit it's sum real ties when we pull up wit the clique it ain't no surprise, they gonna love you when you're rich, money comin in, people knowing that we lit do it fa the fam, we gonna die fa this shit it's sum real ties when we pull up wit the clique it ain't no surprise, they all love you when you're rich, lil nigga I got my weight up, flexin on the competition who tried to play us, now we on, you niggas just gotta pay up, and ion done, I am balling, like I lay up, switch flows, switch cars, I switch hoes, my shit goes, I'm whippin...,"

Lathan passes me the blunt and I take a few puffs, passing it to Mel.

"Money comin in, people knowing that we lit do it fa the fam, we gonna die fa this shit it's sum real ties when we pull up wit the clique it ain't no surprise, they all love you when you're rich, rich, rich as a bitch, money comin in, my pocket lilo and stitch..,"

I laugh to myself. Lilo and Stitch is this niggas favorite movie ever.

"You see it shine on my wrist, ta think I was a mess ta livin my life like this..."

"This shit is lit as fuck, no cap," Marcus says. We all agree.

"I turn up at my shows, get the bag then I dip, you neva really know when somebody gonna switch, it's loyalty and trust, I don't be caught up in the mix cuz money comin in,"

Kimetrius finishes the song and walks out the booth.

"Yo on me that shit was fya bro," DaeDae says, dapping Skies up.

"Thanks nigga," he says, "I've been working on them lyrics for forever," he laughs.

He walks up to me. I get up so he can sit down. When he sits down, he pulls me into his lap.

"When you gonna drop it?" Jay asks.

"Imma play it at all my concerts ta surprise my fans, then when the tour ova, imma drop it," he tells them.

He puts his hand on my thigh.

"You like it baby?" He whispers in my ear. I nod my head yes. I did like it.

"Next week I'm coming back to make a hit with Lil Durk," Kimetrius tells everybody.

"Oh fuck yes," Jay says, "I'm coming wit you, I swear that's my nigga."

We laugh at him but he just waves us off. My mother hates Lil Durk. When we was in the car one day, one of his songs played on the radio. She hated it so much. I really miss her and she won't even be at my graduation which makes my heart ache even more. Then I hear my stomach growl.

"You hungry?" Kimetrius asks me.

I shake my head no.

"Malayah," he warns.

"I'm not hungry," I lie.

"I heard your stomach from all the way ova here lil sis, you hungry, don't lie," Lathan says.

I roll my eyes. I flick him off.

"No thanks, that's Skies job," he says.

"Ughhh," I groan.

"Come on," he says.

I get up and he grabs my hand, walking towards the door.

"I'll see y'all niggas lata," Kimetrius says walking out the studio.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"My mama's house."
