Ugh..my head. Where am I? What's that sound? I tried opening my eyes, but it felt as though they were glued together.
'Ma'am, are you okay?' 'We're gonna Get you out of here don't worry.' The officer said.
My eyes immediately opened, sweat dripping down my face. I looked around; confused...trying to remember what happened.
'I was on the phone with Lorenzo and a vehicle rammed into me.' I thought.
"Ouch! My head!" I said. Holding the side of my face. The door bursted open and I was met with a worried Lorenzo. He rushed over to me grabbing me into a tight hug.
"You're okay!" He said, excitedly.
"Mm, I don't feel okay and I'm sure I don't look okay. What happened? I can only remember bits and pieces." I mumbled. Holding my bruised forehead.
Lorenzo sighed. "You were in an accident. The vehicle came out of no where, you were on the phone with me. It was all my fault..I'm so sorry." He whispered with a defeated look.
"Hey, hey. Like you said it was an accident. Nobody was at fault here." I said, softly.
With a smile I grabbed onto Lorenzo's hand, giving it a small squeeze. The door then bursted open and my two best friends waltzed in.
"Bitttccchhhh! Thank god you're aliveeee! Ariel the mermaid and I took good care of you while you were out cold!" Jamie yelled a bit too enthusiastically.
"Hey! Tone it down there you goof! Can't your see our dear friend has been through a rough time? Don't worry M, we took care of you! We're just so happy you're back with us!" Ariel said giving me a hug. Lorenzo watched on with a confused expression. Yeah bud, my friends are crazy. I thought.
"Alright! Enough of this sentimental crap! Doctor Lewis said you'll be out soon. We just need to pack your medication and get rid of all these needles and you'll be good to go." Jamie explained.
I was discharged by noon and Lorenzo kindly gave me a ride home. I once again tried calling my dad but as always he was busy.
"I can stay if you want?" Lorenzo stated.
"No that's okay. I'll be fine." I replied. Almost falling on my face from being too weak.
"That's it I'm staying. Is take out okay." He asked.
"Take outs fine." I said, Sighing.
The food arrived and Lorenzo assisted me in sitting on the couch. He brought our dinner over to the table and we ate in silence whilst some odd movie played on tv. When we were finished he placed all the dishes in the sink and came to sit next to me once again. This time my favorite movie was playing. Dear John. I brought the blanket up to cover the both of us as Lorenzo scooted down closer to me. I placed my head on his shoulder as we watched the movie and we both fell asleep soon after.
