I found my friends idling in the waiting room. They didn't notice me until I walked in and cleared my throat. I was swarmed with questions like bees protecting their queen from the enemy.
"So, how did it go? Are you guys back together? When is the wedding?" Jamie asked, breathless.
"Did you kiss him?" Ariel swooned.
"People! Hold on. All we did was talk, we both had our say and we agreed to be friends." I told them, air-quoting the word friends.
"Aw man! I had this really strong gut feeling you guys would get back together." Ariel said, pouting. I saw Jamie slightly nod his head, agreeing.
"Okay, enough about my love-less life. Update on Mr. Romano?" I said sternly walking towards his room.
"Well, he's doing a lot better. His wounds have begun healing...he's still a grumpy bastard though." Ariel said trying to keep up with my steps.
"The little mermaid is correct. He's a grouch! That man needs to get laid!" Yelled my oh-so-irritating friend. The little mermaid sentence earned Jamie a glare from Ariel and a chuckle from myself.
Upon entering the hospital room, I cleared my throat and as usual, pumped sanitizer in my hands. Mr. Romano looked up at me with a huge smile as if I was just arriving to save him from dying of boredom.
"How are we doing today?" I asked with a grin.
"Horrible. I want to go home. I need to move around. I can't be like this anymore!" Mr. Romano yelled, grabbing onto my hand.
"Okay, Okay. Stop being dramatic. Just two more days and you'll be home. Now let me get your medication...I need to put them into the IV. Lunch will be served in five minutes and I expect you to clean your plate and rest for a while. I will be back later to check on you. As usual, press the red button above your bed for assistance." I stated, moving over to get his medication.
After I was done with Mr. Romano I headed off to give my report to Jessica so she could hand it over to my boss. I was so busy scrolling through my documents I didn't realise I had bumped into something hard until I was flat on the ground. Looking up I was greeted by swirling blue eyes and a bright smiling Lorenzo.
"Are you okay there?" He asked. Stretching out his hand so I can get up.
"I-I'm fine. Thanks." Feeling a blush rise up on my cheeks I downed my head only for it to be lifted up by Lorenzo's finger on my chin.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you. I was simply distracted. Cute blush by the way." He said softly. His fingers traced my cheeks down to my lips. My eyes fluttered closed and I could feel Lorenzo getting closer to me. I came to the realization of what was happening and I immediately opened my eyes. Lorenzo pulled back, clearing his throat.
"U-u-um, I have to go. I'm a bit busy right now." I mumbled softly, looking up at him.
Rubbing the back of his neck, he sighed.
"Y-yeah, sure. We are gonna catch up later." He whispered, moving in and kissing my cheeks. My eyes widened as he walked away, placing my hand on the spot he kissed, a smile graced my face as I continued walking to the front desk. 'Was he going to kiss me?' 'What if my breath smelled?' 'I secretly wanted him to kiss me!' Snap Out of it silly girl! My inner voice scolded me.
Suddenly I stopped. Wait. Did he say later? I was beginning to get anxious and it was only one minute ago since Lorenzo left. A sudden smile crept up on my face because deep down inside, I actually wanted to see him a bit later too.

Hello Everyone! Oh my gosh. It's been so long! I am so sorry to everyone who reads my book...I haven't updated in such a while. I actually put this book on hold as I had a bit of "motivation loss" if that's a thing 😂 basically I felt discouraged from writing because I felt like this book was going nowhere and nobody was really reading it. I've gone through some comments from those who actually read my book and I got back motivation and I decided to write this short chapter for everyone to enjoy! I hope you all have a good read, don't forget to vote and leave a comment (constructive criticism is always welcomed)
