[Lorenzo's POV]

"Mia! Hello! Baby! Oh god!" I kept yelling at my phone. I heard sirens so I assumed the police and ambulance were already there. Throwing the mobile on the floor, I turned my car around and headed off to where Mia was praying to whomever I had to pray to for her to be okay.

I squeezed the steering wheel until my knuckles turned pale; a way of calming myself down. Quickly coming to a stop I jumped out and ran over to the horrific scene.

"Sir, sir...you can't go back there." The officer said, holding me back.

"The fuck I can't! Get the fuck off me, bro." I yelled, pulling myself away from the short, not-so-fit man. I ran my fingers through my sweaty hair, looking on as the officers took Mia out of the wrecked car and unto the ambulance gurney. Whilst the officer was looking away I made a dash towards Mia.

A sob broke through me as I came up close to her. My beautiful girl was bruised from her forehead to her cheeks, her skin was pale and she had a small cut on her upper lip. As the EMTs were checking her out I decided to find out what happened.

"Excuse me, can you give me any information as to what happened here?" I asked.

"Well sir, it seems as though this was just an unfortunate accident. So no sign of foul play. The driver of the other vehicle said the young lady came out of nowhere. Seems to me like she wasn't paying attention to the road." He stated matter-of-factly, walking away.

'Mia wasn't paying attention. I called her. She looked away because of my phone call. I caused this,' I thought. Taking a seat on the sidewalk, I took my phone out and dialed Cal's number...after two rings he picked up.

"Hey bro wha-"

"I fucked up," I said, trying my best to keep my emotions at bay.

"Mia and I have just started to fix things and I just had to call her...I-i-i called her while she was driving a-and she looked away from the road to answer me...fuck! She got into an accident Cal! All because I fucking called her!" I cried.

"Calm down bro. Listen, it's not your fault, nobody knew this was going to happen. Get your shit together man. Mia needs you right now, you and I both know you didn't cause this. I'm sure Mia knows too. She's gonna need you there when she wakes up. So get your ass up and head over to the hospital." Cal calmly said. With a sigh, I got up and headed into my car.

"Thanks, man. I'll talk to you later." I cut the phone off and took off to the medical center.

I parked at my regular spot thanking the heavens nobody took it before I came. Hurriedly, I opened the door of my vehicle and ran to the hospital's front desk.

"You! What room is Mia in?!" I yelled.

"U-uh, r-room 112, s-s-sir." The lady from last night said, shakily. I didn't say another word as I ran towards the elevator quickly hopping inside. Reaching the top floor, I zoomed past all the rooms coming to a stop at Mias' door number. Opening the door, I was met with a fragile Mia; wires hooked up to her body, pale skin, white lips. I rushed to her side lifting her small hand, being careful not to make the IV needle fall out, wiped away a few stray tears and thanked God that she was okay.

"She's going to be okay. She's spent years making people better and now we're going to make her better." Said a voice from behind. Turning around with lazy eyes I came into contact with a not-so-tall man. He wore huge black glasses, with his short hair combed back a bit too oily for my taste. He seemed like your typical 'nerd' but he had good fashion sense. He wore the same blue scrubs as Mia.

"He's right. We'll take care of her," said a woman, I didn't even notice her come in. She was tall, kind of Asian and she had short brown hair. I smiled at them both as they walked away and took a seat on the stool next to my love's bed. I gently stroked her hair, giving her, or more so myself comfort. I carefully placed a small kiss on the palm of her hand, resting my head on the edge of a bed as I dozed off.

I woke up to my cellphone annoyingly blaring. I yawned and rubbed a hand over my tired face, picking up the phone I answered and placed it in my ear. I spent about two minutes or so talking to my siblings about how my dad was doing, and them asking about Mia. I was happy to hear dad was doing well and he was going to be released tomorrow. I checked my watch and realised it was only ten-thirty pm, I felt like the time just wouldn't move. Giving Mia a peck on her forehead, I left the hospital and headed home to get cleaned up.

After an hour, I was back at the hospital grabbing some coffee. I then reached out to the doctor and nurses to take care of my love.

"Excuse me, how is Mia doing? When will she wake up?" I asked anxiously.

"She's doing well...Mia is most likely to wake up tomorrow, she has been sedated so her wounds can heal a bit better. We have been giving her medication into the IV hooked on her hand." The doctor, whose name tag read Jameson said kindly.

"Thanks, man. I appreciate everything." I genuinely said, and we shook hands before he took off. I made my way back to the hospital room, casually sipping on my coffee and when I entered everything was the same. I took a seat on one of the couches, taking my phone out to reply to some emails. I must have dozed off because I woke up to somebody calling my name, I jumped up only to be greeted by the most amazing smile I've ever seen in my life.
