Chapter 10

"It may be, it may not be."

"Chazz, just give a straight answer for once"

"Okay fine! Yes it's about her!"

"Chazz!"

"I couldn't stop thinking about her okay?!"

"Well then stop!"

"I can't just stop! You said it yourself! You can't control yourself, neither can I!"

"Oh gosh you heard that?"

"Uhhh I- I gotta go" with that he spun around and began taking his first step, before he could walk away I grabbed his arm and spun him around

"Oh no you're not going anywhere mister"

"Aw c'mon I gotta get to class!" He yelled

"No! Lil' bro, you eavesdropping on me?" There was a long pause before he finally answered

"Yeah, I was, and I'm really sorry okay? I didn't mean to but I was passing by when I heard your voice" Shyera looked extremely disappointed in her little brother and he looked down, guilt covering his handsome face. "It's alright. But please Chazz, never do it again." Shyera stated sternly "will do sis" he soon turned and started walking away but he stopped abruptly, turning around to Shyera and place a kiss on his older sisters cheek. She was stunned by this, her brother just kissed her in public?! This town really was getting to him.

As she turned around her phone started ringing, causing her favorite song, at the moment, to play 'Sail- AWOLNATION' she was currently obsessing over this song but she was soon going to change it, she changed her ring tone frequently, she let the song play until she finally answered it realizing how long she made the person wait.
~Shyera's P.O.V~

'Hey, look I'm so sorry for not picking up faster I have a really reasonable reason why' I blurted out
'And what might that reason be, sweetheart?' Answered the voice she was dreading to hear

'Oh God...' I drawled out, 'how on Earth did you get my number?'
'I do my research, and you were going to tell me why you took so long to answer?' He then asked, coolly.

"You creep, my reason was..." I paused for a moment before looking down and smiling sheepishly, "I like my ring tone"

He laughed before answering, 'Well love, what a reasonable reason indeed'

'Are you mocking me? Anyway forget about that, why did you call me?'
'I can't call just to say hi?'

'Hiii! Now what do you want?'

He sighed, 'Okay I was just calling to check in'

'You literally "checked in" with her two seconds ago'
'Who said I was talking about the doppelganger?'

As he said this, my knees went week, why was I feeling like this?

'Cut to the chase Nik, what do you really want' I asked sternly
'I just told you, I wanted to check in with you'

'You talk to me as if I'm your girlfriend'
'Well one day, I hope you will be'

As soon as he said that, my breath hitched and my heart was thudding so hard it felt as if it were going to jump out of my chest
'My my, love, I can here your heart beat from where I'm standing'

'You think so much of yourself,' I said rolling my eyes 'anyway, I gotta go, class is about to start' I said
'I look forward to speaking to you again, love. Good bye'

'Bye bye.' I said, ending the conversation
Did he really want me to be his girlfriend? I thought to myself, maybe he was just kidding, but it sure didn't feel like it. Completely distracted I sat down in my seat. Not until much later was I snapped out of it, by none other than Alaric. "Shyera, Shyera, Shyera!" The last time he called me he was yelling and snapping his fingers in my face, I automatically apologized, looking down. "What's up with you?" He asked "I- I don't know" I stuttered. "I know what's wrong with her, she's daydreaming about a old vampire who wants to kill me" Elena said, loud enough for everyone next to her, which was me, Stefan, Bonnie and Caroline, could hear. I spun around and glared at her, making her put her hands up as if she was surrendering.

The last thing Elena said earned me looks from my friends 'What a bitch' I thought to myself, referring to Elena. I turned around, slightly getting ticked off with how Elena had been acting with me lately. The rest of the school day passed by, being it's boring usual self, as I walked to my car, I heard my phone start ringing, but this time I answered it within a matter of seconds.
~Nik's P.O.V~

'I'm surprised you answered so fast' I commented as soon as she answered
'Well I've heard it like three times today, so I guess I don't need to listen to it anymore' she said coolly

'You've ignored three people today?' I asked, chuckling
'Well you're one of 'em'

'Of course I am'

She laughed before asking, 'But seriously Nik, two times in one day? I know I'm flawless but you need to stop obsessing'

I laughed whole heartedly, 'I need to stop obsessing?'
'Yeah, duh'

I laughed once again before answering, 'Okay okay I'll stop. I actually called you up to remind you this is your last day with the doppëlganger so you better spend it properly'
'Second. Last. Day. And I don't even really care'

'Why not?'
'Well she's really been getting on my nerve lately and she is annoying' she answered stretching the 'annoying'

I was stunned, I didn't expect her to actually answer, 'Well what has she done, for you to find her annoying?'
'Ugh, she keeps acting snarky and bitchy and rude and mean and bitchy and she keeps ignoring me and judging me and passing me looks... and did I mention bitchy?' She answered quickly

'Well sounds to me as if she's jealous'
'Jealous?! Of me?! Why would she be jealous of me?'

'Maybe your very close to someone she loves, maybe she doesn't like that fact' I shrugged forgetting she couldn't see me
'You know what, you actually might be right, maybe she is jealous of me, anyways I gotta go, I reached the Boarding house, they'd flip I they found me talking to you, especially Elena. Buh-bye!'

'Bye, talk to you later, remember... she's jealous' I said hanging up the phone
