Carlos left the clinic a happy man. There was nothing wrong with him.
But the thoughts still plagued his mind as to why they couldn't seem to get pregnant.
Was it Jewel? Was thirty six too old for her to produce another child for him?
He tried calling her, he wanted her to visit the fertility clinic. He wanted them to know for sure if they had to look at other options but her phone kept going straight to voicemail.
They usually talked the night before about her plans the next day, but seeing as he didn't sleep beside her, he had no idea where his wife was.
He had to return to practice in an hour, but he decided to drive home, incase his wife's schedule was free today.
As he entered the front door, he noticed that the door was unlocked, someone was home.
He walked towards their bedroom, the sound of the shower reminded him of their Sunday morning activity which got him excited.
He entered the bathroom, but the woman naked in his shower scrubbing his body wash against her skin was not his wife.
She stared at him, a smirk on her lips as she moved the sponge to her sensitive area, giving him a full view of what she was doing.
Carlos had promised himself, only once. He'd held onto that, but staring at a naked Summer, touching herself for him, was hard to resist.
Her finger motioned for him to join her and Carlos wasted no time relieving himself of his clothes as he opened the shower door.
"Do I need to ask why you're in my shower using my body wash?"
He questioned as her hand roamed his body.
"I couldn't get Sunday out of my mind, I couldn't get you out of my mind and I thought your body wash would help carb the urges."
She pressed her lips against his chest.
"Was it helping?"
She nodded.
"Until the real thing came along."
She got on her tiptoes, her lips pressed against his and Carlos promised himself, one last time.
"I'm convinced you're crazy."
Jewel said as they stepped out of the car in front of the bakery.
"I'm just a man trying to spend time with my busy friend."
Jewel's eyes rolled.
"And coming to my private cake tasting is helping?"
Ryan nodded.
"I like cake and I like you."
Jewel shook her head as she entered through the wooden door. The aromas of freshly baked pastries hitting her. She turned to the man.
"Listen, this is Kim and Jomauld. Jomauld could go tell Carlos and make things worse for me."
"He wouldn't."
Ryan tried to convince her, but Jewel knew better as she saw the two already seated at the table. Both their eyebrows arched as they stared at the man beside her.
The last time she'd spoken to her best friend was at her anniversary party when she walked off on both her and her sister. She knew Kim was always the peace maker between the two and she was currently trying to piece together what was happening in front of her.
She wrapped her arms around Jewel's neck as she whispered.
"Why is Ryan here?"
"I'm sorry for the intrusion, Kim, Jomauld, you both know Ryan. He'd be joining us for the tasting today."
