Jeston sat across from her, his AirPods attached to his ears as Jewel rolled her eyes.

So much for spending time with his mother, she thought.

They pulled up in front of the first venue. The wind blew through the trees bending them into different shapes as Jewel stepped out of the car.

Jeston followed suit as Jewel stared up at her hard work. The fairy lights that wrapped across the wooden pillars. The wooden log chairs that surround the rectangular wooden table, adorned with a white rose and leaf themed garland, translucent plate holders and white plates with an italic printed name on each napkin.

The caterer's began placing the finger foods on the table as the deejay began to play his mix.

Rihanna - oh na na blasted through the speakers as Jewel twisted a tea cup to match the others.

"This looks so girly."

Jeston muttered.

"It's a bridal shower. It's supposed to be girly, it's for the bride."

Jewel retorted as she placed her arm on her son's shoulder.

"So you ensure it's girly?"

A chuckle escaped Jewel's lips at her son's question.

"No, my client in this case would be the bride. Tells me about herself and what she'd like to see or envision on her day and I give her ideas and we work together to get her thoughts out on paper. Then I hire persons that can bring this to life."

"Like the fairy god mother in those Cinderella movies?"

Jewel didn't expect her son to understand her world so she nodded.

"Yes, like a fairy god mother."

"It's all setup, why do you still have to be here?"

Was it too late to return her son to his father?

"For this."

She whispered as Kim stepped out of the car, her eyes widened as they filled with water and her palms covered her mouth.

"Oh my gosh, Jewel... this is more than I could have ever asked for."

Her hands wrapped around Jewel's shoulders before she stared at her, tears running down her cheeks.

Jewel pulled out a napkin and wiped at Kim's eyes.

"Save the tears for your big day. Jomauld wanted this to be everything you've ever wanted and more."

"Thank you."

Kim wrapped her in a hug, her eyes stopping on Jeston.

Instantly Jewel scolded herself, she should have left her son in the car.

"And who do we have here? Are you crashing your aunt's bridal shower?"

Jewel placed her hand on his shoulder as Jeston shook his head.

"No, I'm mom's assistant for the day."

She rolled her eyes at her son stretching the truth.

"We have two other stops and then I'm all yours."

Kim glared at her best friend.

"You're my maid of honor."

"And your event coordinator, but I promise I'll return."

"You better."

Kim said as Jewel left with Jeston.

"What do women do at a bridal shower?"
