Jewel cheered as Jeston threw the ball and it entered the ring.

Her son had improved exponentially and she was proud. He was a miniature version of his father when he first started.

Mya sat beside her, her eyes glued to her tablet and the Barbie game she was consumed with.

She saw the man whose text messages remained unanswered on her phone.

His eyes were trained on the game in front of him and Jewel was glad. With ten minutes left on the clock, Jewel knew Exchange would come out victorious and her son would be running to her to ask her to go for celebratory pizza with his teammates.

It was better than the attitude she'd received all week, thanks to Carlos' absence.

"Daddy!"

Mya exclaimed as Jewel's heart raced. She didn't turn to look at him but felt him beside her as he sat, Mya now on her father's lap.

"Mymy, I missed you."

He kissed her cheek as Mya began to tell her father about the week she'd had.

"We're staying at Aunty Jasmine's and Uncle Trey's, we made tacos and Briana and I beat mummy in hide and seek."

Her voice held so much excitement in it, it broke Jewel. Jeston wouldn't be the only one deeply affected if the couple decided to part ways.

"You had a fun week, sounds like you had no time to miss daddy?"

"I missed you a lot daddy. Jeston did as well."

She answered as Carlos wrapped his arms around her.

"I guess that means your road trip is over and you're coming back home with daddy tonight?"

Even though the question was directed at Mya, Jewel knew it was really meant for her.

He wanted them home and he was using the kids to get his way.

"Yes, I miss my bed and my play room and all my toys."

The horn sounded signaling the end of the game as the crowd cheered. Jeston looked over at her, but when his eyes found his father, his entire being lit up.

It didn't matter that she was there for the entire game and his father only showed up for the last ten minutes, it was important that his father was there.

"Let's go congratulate Jes."

Carlos carried Mya to the court as Jewel followed behind. Jeston ran towards his father.

"You came?"

"I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Carlos responded and Jeston grinned from ear to ear.

She felt a familiar pair of eyes on her. Jewel turned in time to see the man walking towards her and shook her head.

They couldn't do this here and they couldn't do it now. He bypassed her and stopped in front of Carlos.
