Hello Wonderful readers! I’ve decided to upload this chapter early because it’s just a filler before the poop really hits the fan. I wanted to introduce Aira as she will play a big role as Saphira's best friend. Enjoy!

Chapter 2:

Saphira’s point of view

Sunlight flittered past my lilac curtains and onto my face. I groaned in annoyance and turned over, way too comfortable to even consider getting up. I was just about to fall back asleep when the irritating beat of the selfie song came to life. I groped around blindly for my phone until I found it and hit snooze. I lay in bed for 5 more minutes until I decide that it’s time to start with my daily routine. Walking slowly to my bathroom, I started the shower and stepped in. The warm water woke up my sleepy muscles and I felt rejuvenated. After performing my usual ritual, I got out of the shower and wrapped myself in a fluffy towel. I smiled to myself until the events of last night slowly crept into my mind. My smile quickly transformed into a frown. I couldn’t help but wonder if it had all turned out to be some crazy, messed up figment of my imagination. Maybe I inherited my father’s craziness. I shuddered at the thought. I vowed to myself that I would never turn out like him, and that I would never marry a man without sending him for a cat scan first.  I walked to my closet and contemplated on what I should wear. I pulled on a pair of dark blue jeggings and a white tank top. I put on a mini denim jacket and a pair of white sneakers. I could never leave the house without eyeliner and mascara surrounding my dark chocolate eyes. After applying my makeup, I brushed out my ebony hair and turned to the mirror. Satisfied with how I look, I walked downstairs and followed the tantalizing smell of bacon that wafted through the air. I decided not to bring up anything that happened yesterday. After all, I’m not entirely sure that it happened anyway. I was surprised to find the kitchen empty with a note from my mother stuck on the counter next to the delicious bacon.

‘I’m sorry I had to leave the house early. I needed to get to the office by 6am. Have a good day sweetheart, love you.’

Sighing, I scrambled some eggs and helped myself to the bacon. I looked at the time as I munched on my breakfast, Aira should be here soon. Aira has been my best friend since kindergarten. She’s a platinum blond with stormy grey eyes and a fiery personality. The sound of a car horn alerted me of my friend’s arrival. I chugged down some juice and grabbed my bag from the living room. I locked the front door and opened the door to Aira’s super cute mini cooper.

“Good morning bestest friend in the whole entire world,” she greeted far too chirpily for my liking. I raised an eyebrow skeptically, “Good morning huh? Yeah right, you’re so not a morning person. What’s got you in such a good mood?”

“What are you talking about? I am too a morning person!” She stated indignantly. I burst out laughing, “Oh really? Do you remember that time we had a sleepover at your house and I couldn’t sleep so I decided to wake you up? Do you remember what you did?”

“No,” She mumbled quietly. I looked at her and smirked, “You grabbed my hand and bit me. Really hard too! I still have the scar to prove it.”

“Are you ever going to get over that?” she said as she rolled her eyes. “No, now tell me why you’re so happy. I swear I just saw a rainbow shoot out of your butt.” I said with a laugh.
