Austin and Chad walked to Bethany, who was at her locker. They laughed but immediately stopped when they saw Evan and Malice by the last one's locker. Chad pointed at them. "Those kids are trouble."
Austin and Beth also looked at them. They saw Evan leave. "Bye, bro."
"Bye."
Beth turned back to Chad. "Come on, Chad. Give them a chance." Chad rolled his eyes a bit.
Austin took Beth's hands. "Oh. No offense, Bethybabe, but you're just too trusting. Look, I know your mom fell in love with a big nasty beast who turned out to be a prince. But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy. That girl's mother." He whispered the last part.
"I think you're wrong about them."
Austin sighed and left. Chad followed him.
"I'll see you guys later, " Beth added. She walked to Malice. "Hey."
Malice was surprised someone actually wanted to talk to him. Well, yeah, someone but Evan, Jessie, and Charon, of course. He closed his locker. "Hey."
"How was your first day?" Beth asked.
"Super, " Malice answered sarcastically, but still friendly.
Beth saw the spray paint drawing on Malice's locker. "You should really think about taking this talent off the locker and into art class. I could, uh, sign you up. What do you think?"
Malice's attention was caused by Flash, who quickly passed him. "Way to take all the fun out of it." Malice winked at Beth before he followed Flash to the boys' bathroom.
Beth smiled a bit. She leaned against the locker next to Malice's. "Huh."
Flash stood in front of the mirror in the boys' bathroom. His eyes widened when he saw Malice's reflection coming nearby him. He turned around to face the purple-haired boy. "Hi! It's Flash, right? Ah, very nice name. Flash, " Malice complimented.
"That's cool, " Flash said before trying to leave.
"Don't go!" Malice shouted. Flash immediately stopped, he was so scared. "I guess I was just kind of hoping to make a friend. You probably have all the friends you need though, huh?" Malice asked him.
He "flashed" a sad smile. "Hardly."
"Really? I mean, with your mom being Fairy Godmother and headmistress? I mean, not to mention your own, um... personality." Malice chuckled. It was kinda hard for him to make a compliment.
"I'd rather be handsome. You've got great hair." Flash pointed at Malice's purple hairdo.
Malice rushed his hand through his hair. "You know what? I have just the thing for that." Malice chuckled again. He picked his spellbook out of his backpack. Flash frowned. "It's right... Ah, here. "Beware, forswear, replace the old with brand new hair."
Malice flicked with his finger. Flash's head followed. "Oh, ah, ah!" he yelled. He looked back in the mirror and smiled. He ran his hand through his new hair.
Malice stood smiling next to him and leaned on his shoulder. "Wow! You almost don't notice your... Other features anymore."
Flash turned to Malice and pointed at his spellbook. "Do my nose!"
Malice made a sad face. He sighed dramatically. "Oh, I can't. I've been practicing, but you know, I can't do really big magic. Not like your mom with her wand. I mean, one swoosh from that thing and you could probably have whatever features you wanted."
"She doesn't use the wand anymore. She believes the real magic is in the books. And not the spell books, regular books with history and stuff, " Flash informed sadly.
"What a rip, " Malice scoffed.
Flash sighed. "Yeah."
"You know, she used magic on Cinderella, who wasn't even her real child. Doesn't she love you?" Malice continued, the fake sadness dripping in his voice.
Flash looked up. "Well, of course she does. It's... It's just, you know, tough love. "Work on the inside, not the outside." You know, that sort of thing, " he said quickly.
Malice gasped, which startled Flash. He pointed at him. "That's the face! Yeah, and then just look as if your... your heart is about to break. "Oh, mother, I just don't understand why you can't make me beautiful, too, " he presented.
Flash raised his eyebrows full of hope. "Think it would work?"
Malice nodded. "Yeah. I mean, that's what old Cindy did, right? And your mother Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Booed the living daylights out of her. And, hey, If your mom does decide to, you know, break out the old wand, invite me."
Flash nodded smiling. "If I can convince mom, you're so there."
Malice clapped like a toddler who gets candy. "Yay."
Flash left and waved. "Bye."
Malice waved and smiled with an evil grin. "Bye."
