Jimin woke up to rain pouring outside. It was the millionth time it had rained that month, but after all it was July and therefore rain season. He soon realized that the reason he had been woken up was because of his phone's monotonous ringing. Jimin grabbed it and answered the call without looking to see who it was.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Jimin."
"What's up Hobo-hyung?"
"I just wanted to call and tell you that the studio will be closed today so you have the day off."
"Why?"
"All of this rain did something to the water pipes in the building. Apparently it's a hazard so I'm having maintenance people come in and fix it. I don't know anything about plumbing."
"Alright. Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Nope, just enjoy yourself I guess."
"Okay, call me later and tell me how it went."
"Bye Jimin."
The call hung up and Jimin got out of his bed. He knew he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep at this point so he might as well get up.
Jimin made himself a mug of hot chocolate. Once it was ready he put on a hoodie and went out to his balcony to watch the rain. Since it was six in the morning Jimin would be able to catch the sun rise. If the rain clouds didn't cover the sun up anyway.
As soon as he walked outside Jimin saw Yoongi sitting out on his balcony. He quietly shut his own door and shuffled to the chair he had on the porch. Jimin closed his eyes and listened to the sound of the rain.
"Good morning, Jimin," Yoongi's voice sounded much softer than normal. Jimin guessed that the other was probably still tired.
Jimin opened his eyes, "Morning."
The two fell into silence after acknowledging each other's presence. It was too early in the morning for anything to be awkward. So Jimin just sat there, drinking his hot cocoa. After a while Yoongi went inside but almost immediately came back out. He looked over at the younger, "Is it okay with you if I play some music? I don't like silence that much..."
Jimin nodded, "As long as it's peaceful music and not crazy stuff."
Yoongi connected the speaker he had brought out to his phone and scrolled through some stuff. Eventually he settled on some slow-type music. Jimin was surprised that the first was one of his favorite songs- I Am Me by Got7. The younger smiled to himself and quietly hummed along. He didn't want to bother Yoongi with his bad singing voice at six-fifteen in the morning.
This continued until seven am when Yoongi finally stood up again to stretch, "Do you work?"
Jimin snorted at the unintentionally rude way Yoongi asked it, "Mmhm, I just have the day off because the plumbing in the building is broke."
The older made a face, "You're lucky."
"What about you?"
"What?"
"You asked if I work, so now I'm asking you. What's your job?"
"I'm currently out of a job," Yoongi shrugged, "So right now, my job is looking for jobs... if that even makes sense."
"It does," Jimin picked his long-emptied mug off of the ground, "Good-luck with that."
"Thank you," Yoongi smiled.
