"Hello?"

"My bed is empty without you." Chris's voice rasped through the receiver of her cell phone. Simone chuckled.

"You agreed to this too." She whispered, rolling onto her stomach and staring at the space on the bed that Chris usually occupied.

"A week away from you was terrible."

"You get to see me tomorrow." She propped her head up on her palm, elbow digging into the plush pillow on the hotel bed. "You can't wait..." Simone glanced over to the clock on the nightstand. Red, glowing numbers stared back at her. "You can't wait ten more hours?"

"It's killing me."

"Well you're lucky you have Tyler. I miss my little boy."

Chris smiled and glanced over to the other bed in his hotel room, the young boy curled in on himself and fast asleep. "It took him a long time to get to sleep, he was super excited."

"Well, I'll let you in on a little secret: I wasn't sleeping." She giggled. "I'm too excited to sleep."

"You should get some sleep, baby girl. I want you well rested. We sort of have this thing to do tomorrow, pretty casual, but I'd like to get through it easy."

"Oh right, aren't we getting married or something?"

"Somethin' like that, yeah." Chris replied with a low chuckle. Tyler stirred and he quieted himself for a moment. "I'll see you tomorrow, baby."

"I love you, Chris."

"I love you too."

When Simone woke the next morning, she had a bit of a drag in her step due to only getting about four hours of sleep, but her makeup and hair people perked her up. As well as her sister, who brought her a decent cup of coffee. After a few hours, Simone was standing in the middle of the room all glammed up.

"Simone, you look beautiful." Nina whispered, pulling out the long train of Simone's wedding dress. Her hair and makeup had been done, and she was only an hour away from walking down the aisle. Nina ran her fingers through Simone's silken locks briefly to loosen up a few curls before stepping back and admiring the lace and bead detailing on the back of the dress.

A tiara was placed delicately upon her head, and Simone smiled as their wedding photographer captured some sweet moments between the sisters. "This is it, huh?" Simone whispered, brushing the sides of the veil off her shoulders.

"Yep, this is it – you're gonna marry some weirdo." Scott, Chris's brother commented.

"Shut up, Scott." Simone laughed, glancing over at the man lounging in a chair with a glass of champagne. "Please go check on your brother, make sure he's on schedule."

Scott nodded, exiting the room quickly and heading down the hall to the bedroom where the men were getting ready in. He knocked twice, then opened up the door to find his brother clasping his cuff links.

"Scott," Chris said with a grin. "Have you come from the Land of Women?"

"I have. Everyone's ready, you guys are super behind." There was a small chorus of 'shit' and 'aw, fuck' as the groomsmen hurried around to finish getting dressed. "Simone looks amazing, Chris."

He smiled fondly, but was ultimately distracted by Tyler running into his lower leg. "Daddy I'm hungry," He said, rubbing his eyes. He was still attempting to wake up.

"Alright, buddy. There's some juice in the fridge and crackers in your backpack. You wanna go get those?"

"I don't wan' crackers."
