"Mommy this city is big and loud."
"Yes it is, baby."
"When do we eat?"
"Soon, Ty." Simone murmured, checking over her shoulder to make sure she could change lanes while Tyler played with an Iron Man action figure in the backseat. She checked her phone for the directions, and managed to catch the right exit just in time. She was actually surprised Chris hadn't called her yet.
"Mommy we been driving forever."
Simone chuckled. "I know, baby. But we're almost there." Once she was finally on a surface street she was able to relax and drive comfortably. She pulled up to the valet parking in front of Chris's hotel and got out. "Good morning," She greeted the valet driver.
"Shall I put it in the overnight stay?"
"Yes, thank you. It's pre-paid."
"Under what last name?"
"Evans." Chris wouldn't let her pay for the extended valet parking. They actually had a small tiff about it.
"Would you like your bags carried upstairs?"
"Oh no, we can do it. Huh, Ty? You gonna be big and strong and get your bag up?" Tyler nodded and Simone smiled. "Thank you so much." She handed him a tip then walked with Tyler and their luggage to the elevator. "Press the button for Mommy, baby." Tyler hopped up and slapped his hand against the big UP button and when the doors opened, he patiently waited for instructions. "Number seven, Ty."
"Seven!"
She giggled and leaned against the mirrored walls of the elevator, taking time to fix her hair. The doors opened again and she let out a sigh. "Alrighty Tyler, we gotta find room S754." Tyler dashed up and down the halls and Simone grinned. Then she heard a little 'here mommy' and followed his voice as he pointed to the door. "You're right, there you go! Can you knock for me?" Tyler pounded his hand against the door and Simone giggled. She heard the door click, and Chris answered the door shirtless with some faded blue plaid pajama pants.
"Look at that, I didn't know I had a delivery of my favorite people this morning." He joked, pulling Simone into a hug and kissing her temple. "Hi baby."
"Hey you." She patted his stomach and Chris bent down, lifting Tyler into his arms.
"Hey big guy, what's goin' on?"
"I am hungry."
"I bet you are, let's get something to eat. Here, look at this." He handed him the room service menu. "Pick something on that." Directly after that interaction, he turned to Simone and gave her a tight hug. "Mm, baby girl."
"Hey you."
"You always say that. I love it."
"Good morning, by the way."
He yawned and stretched his arms above his head. "Good mornin indeed. I'm exhausted."
"Did you go out last night?"
"Is it that obvious?" He chuckled. "Mm," Chris leaned over and kissed her forehead. "You look gorgeous, baby."
"Yeah? The face that's been up since four AM and had to deal with a grumpy five year old on a four hour drive looks gorgeous?"
"Yes she does." He smiled, pecking her cheek.
"Oh, baby. Go drink some water please. Your eyes are very red."
"Dada I want this," Tyler said, and another wave of uncomfortable heat struck Simone like a lightning bolt. Chris sighed.
"What do you want, buddy?"
