By the way reader, before you read on, just note that I was just kidding that Vi and Dare believed Holly and Rowan, because, well, would you?
Dare did not appreciate feeling as if he came from a story book where something magical happens. He didn't need that type of problem in his life, especially when people said he had a magical power of extreme anger, englowered was it? Maybe he wasn't listening very well. He didn't say anything but tried for a look that said, 'Yeah, sure that's believable.' Dare didn't think it worked very well. Vi went all in for expressing HER opinion, 'Really? You expect us to believe magic is-' she was suppose to say 'real' but was interrupted by Rowan bursting into dark flames which engulfed his body so only the his outline could be seen. Holly raised her palm upwards and three balls of light danced around her body, glowing so brightly Vi and Dare both winced due to the flash. 'Nothing,' Vi answered quickly. Dare, once again, chose to keep his mouth shut. 'Now, show us the magic you possess,' Rowan commanded. Silence.
Dare broke the soundlessness, 'We are not magic people,' he he said matter of factly. Rowan laughed, 'No, you don't know HOW to do magic,' he said. 'But you have magic, I can feel your aura, the power is unbelievably strong in both of you. Now focus and close your eyes.' Dare picked up a piece of watermelon from the table, took a bite and closed his eyes. After a minute, he broke the silent room, 'Alright, I got nothing. Now, can you please bring us back and let us live an ordinary, normal life? What!?' he said indignantly, everyone was staring at him. He glanced at his hand to see the watermelon in several fragments, floating in the air. The moment his mind was shocked, the pieces dropped to the ground. Vi was staring at him, gaping, 'How did you do that?' 'You expect me to know, seriously?' said Dare. 'That's unfair how come he's able to have something cool first!' complained Vi though you could tell she was impressed.
'Where did you find this information anyway?' shot Vi. 'An old note in some stupid book?' Oww, thought Dare. What did he do? 'What do we have to do with anything?' he asked Holly. There are three other empowered humans, and we don't know if they have already been taught magic or if they're like you, completely hopeless,' Holly answered only to get a glare from Vi. 'You can find out how many there are by,' she hesitated, 'water. Because you can find it almost anywhere, it's our most reliable source of information because it can see everything.' Holly filled up the sink in the bathroom and beckoned them to come over. She dropped a ball the size of a marble into the water. The ball was very shiny and looked too clean to be true. It started to dissolve until it was just invisible bits floating in the water. 'What was that for?' Dare asked pointing at where the ball dissolved. 'Oh, it's a purifier for the water. Since chemicals and pollution and what not are being dumped into the ocean and rivers all the time, purifiers are a good 'bribe' to make the water tell you what you want to know. Of course, all that crud from factories are coming out so fast that purifiers don't change much. Do you kno-,' started Rowan. 'Shut up and watch so Dare and Vi can understand,' interrupted Holly. 'How many empowered ones are there?' she asked the water. She looked like an idiot, thought Dare. Suddenly, the water began to create word on the surface.
