Jame was cast away by his own mother as a baby. He'd spend the next ten years in foster hell being passed to one hateful person after another. People would starve him for days with only toilet water to drink. Locked him in dark closets until light could hurt his eyes. And beat him like a punching bag for amusement, boredom, or to let off steam. This was all Jame Gumb knew...
Child Protective Services convinced his maternal grandparents to take him for foster payments. Not only did his mother hate him, but the rest of her family also despised his existence. Kept him hidden like a dirty secret. He wasn't allowed to play outside, go to church with them, or be downstairs when guests were inside the house. Grandpa Gumb took pleasure in teasing him about how ugly he was. How nobody wanted him not even strangers who were paid to raise him. The everyday mocking festered. Manifesting into a need to fill a void. By 12-years-old, Jame beat them to death with a frying pan just to feel better for a while.
Jame was tried as a minor for the murder of his grandparents. Apart of him wanted to see her in the courtroom - his mother. It didn't matter what side she was on. She could be there to support him or grieve her dead parents. How could she not show up for the media attention? Be in the spotlight she craved. No, she never came. Jame was sent to a psychiatric hospital, Tulare Vocational Rehabilitation, where he learned to be a tailor in their workshops. They released him onto the world shortly after his 18th birthday like a plague.
