COMPETITION DAY
__________________________
That night Jimin didn't get his answer in words. But he got in pleasure, one all night long, wet, full of desire and spellbinding pleasure. It was funny how the thought and intention of going slower had flown into oblivion as soon as Naomi suggested they move to a more private place.
He could still feel the hot breath, he remembered every dirty word that escaped his lips that night, the adrenalin, the ability to lose yourself in someone else's eyes. The feeling was disorientating, but at the same time - so damn good. And watching the way she was looking at him, he couldn't wait to find out what other side of hers, she was hiding for him.
If he didn't get his answer in words, then he got it in actions when they entered the school grounds hand in hand on the day of the competition. She just gave him a light squeeze and continued to walk inside the building, acting unbothered by the curious eyes that followed after them.
People around were openly staring at them, or to be precise at their interlocked hands. One guy even rubbed his eyes, questioning if maybe he was still asleep and was dreaming that the biggest rivals in their school had connected like that.
It wasn't Naomi and Jimin's first time to be the center of the gossip in the school, but being the center never felt so right - so good.
Aside from the news that Jimin and Naomi were together, the school was also talking about the upcoming competition that was going to happen in the afternoon hours. The competition was one of the most important events in the school, and everyone was as equally excited as the dancers who were going to compete.
The tension grew even stronger when the clock ticked 5 PM and the dancers knew that they only had a few more minutes to arrange some last moment things.
Naomi and Jimin were sitting alongside Mia and Hoseok in the waiting room, but surprisingly the two pairs were dead silent. Hoseok would comment something occasionally, but seeing that no one paid attention to what he was saying, he stayed silent as well.
The most excited one of all seemed to be their dance teacher, Ms. Sung who walked from pair to pair to ask if they were ready, if they needed some last-minute advice, offering water and food around the competitors. No one could blame her for her excitement, because even if the pairs were training mostly on their own, she still made a big part of their dance routines.
Once Jimin and Naomi's names were called, the duo stood up from their seats as if on cue and hand in hand walked towards the backstage area. No words were spoken, until the very moment when they were supposed to get on the stage.
Jimin pulled Naomi in his embrace, starling her slightly from the sudden movement. He enclosed his hands around her waist, but not before putting hers around his neck and leaned his forehead until it touched hers.
Their breathing was shallow and fast, resembling the beating of their hearts. Jimin took one deep breath, inhaling her scent and letting her floral perfume calm his senses.
"Let's show them a performance that they had never seen before, love."
He whispered to her, leaving a quick peck on her nose and pulled her towards the stage.
They danced like it was their last time they were going to be on stage, like it was the only time they were going to be dancing together. On stage their personality, their sensuality translated into the most vibrant picture of a beautiful soul. Two souls became one with the music as they unleashed their deepest desires and emotions into their dance. Jimin and Naomi danced as if they needed it as badly as they needed to breathe.
Their movements flowed with such grace that took away the breath of every person in the audience. Dancing to them was like turning back the clock, traveling into a different world where only the two of them existed.
As they finished their performance every single person in the audience stood to applaud for their amazing dance. The cheering followed even after they got backstage where Mia and Hoseok were waiting for them with opened hands. Both of them embraced their friends to congratulate them.
At that moment Jimin could have sworn that if he had wings, they would lift him of the ground as a result of his excitement. He had everything he could ever ask for - friends who cheered honestly for him despite competing in the same competition and a girl who he never thought he would call his.
As soon as the congratulating crowd around them grew even bigger, Jimin's fingers lost Naomi's. The students wanted to ask them about their routine, where they found their inspiration for the performance, who was the maker of the choreography, whose idea was the theme of their dance...
The questions continued to another half an hour, until Jimin couldn't hold in any longer and politely excused himself from the ten girls who were rounding him. He looked around to find his girl, but he couldn't see her in the lava of the students.
"Hey, have you seen Naomi?"
He asked the first person who he saw on his left, while moving around the crowd. The girl who he asked looked at him as if she was about to lick every last drop of sweat off of his abdomen, as her eyes roamed on his wet shirt clenching around his body. She bothered to answer him, only after he cleared his throat twice to snap her out of her trance.
"I think I saw her talking to Ms. Sung beside the backstage entrance."
He muttered a quick 'thank you' and walked towards the said-place where he indeed saw Naomi talking vividly with their dance teacher.
"Excuse me Ms. Sung, I'd like to borrow my girl for a second."
He asked as soon as he reached them, but didn't realize what had escaped his lips until their teacher looked at him with a lifted eyebrow and a teasing smirk. Luckily for him, she didn't ask about his comment.
"Of course, enjoy you two - you deserve it."
She gave a quick hug to the both of them and left to congratulate another pair who participated in the competition.
In the meanwhile, Jimin pulled Naomi outside the stage area and into the school main hallway. At that time no one was there because every student was still behind stage.
He didn't wait even a second after they stopped walking to devour her lips. He could feel her smile against his mouth, her happiness as she curled her hands around his neck and pulled him even closer.
When they finally pulled away, after what it seemed like forever, Jimin rubbed his nose over hers in a tender way and spoke.
"Will you go out with me tomorrow, on our first date, my lady?"
"If I must..."
For a moment Naomi's answer left him speechless because she had said it with a flat tone. But when she broke into a laughter caused by his reaction, Jimin figured that he was holding his breath until she answered him.
"You don't even have to ask, of course I will."
