LOVE AND HATE

_______________________

"Hello, Partner."

"Shut up, idiot."

Jimin watched as Naomi passed him through the hallway as if her hair was caught on fire. He assumed that the girl was probably headed towards the teachers' office. He knew that she wasn't just going to give up the whole pairing thing without a proper fight. That would be so unlike her.

He wanted to mock her a little bit about it, but she fled pass him so fast that he only managed to see a little glimpse of her obvious irritation and furiously red-ish cheeks. He pitied the poor Ms. Sung, who had to deal with Naomi's anger.

"Someone is grumpy today! Is that time of the month, darling?"

He called after Naomi loudly enough so she could hear his words. And he knew that she did because of the fact that he just got greeted by her right hand's middle finger.

Content laugh escaped his lips and he turned to face his best friend, who was standing beside him with his signature judging face.

Hoseok would always try to stop him whenever he was in a fighting mood with Naomi, with the excuse that he should be the bigger person between them. But Jimin knew that he only did it because of his girlfriend - who was also Naomi's best friend. Talk about unlucky coincidence.

Although, he had met Mia and her behavior was nowhere near her best friend's. The girl was always carefree and cheerful as if she was on a happy drug, matching with his best friend's constant mood. They were the most matching couple he had ever seen.

"Isn't she like that every time she is around you? What is the deal with you two?"

Hoseok asked carelessly leaned against his locker, but Jimin knew that his best friend wasn't as indifferent with the situation as he showed to be. He knew that Hoseok wanted peace between him and Naomi, as much as Mia did too.

"I don't know, as weird as this sounds - I like when she is getting all furious and sends her murderess daggers towards me."

"You are crazy, but why am I now surprised? When it is the two of you, everything is possible. I wonder how you will coexist as a pair for the competition."

"I have no idea. But if we don't kill each other until the competition ends, the result will be ... damn good."

In the meanwhile Naomi was settled in her dance teacher's office, sitting opposite of Ms. Sung. The teacher's brown wooden desk that was separating them was the only thing that was stopping her from jumping on her teacher. And yes, Jimin was right about that time of the month. Because it was precisely the first day of her period, she was grumpier than any other day.

"Ms. Sung I can't be partnered with Park Jimin, that's just absurd. I'm better off alone and you are very well aware of that. Please can I just go solo, I'll train even harder if you let me."

Naomi pleaded but the bitterness in her voice gave her real mood away. She was a person who was unable to hide when she was feeling something - her feelings were like written on her face. Her mother could always tell when she tried to lie to her when she was little. And now she was clearly showing that she hated the thought of being paired up with Jimin.

"What is the real reason Naomi? Will you act like this if someone else was your partner instead of Park Jimin?"

Ms. Sung asked her with a lifted eyebrow, acting as if she knew something that Naomi was hiding. There was even a hidden mocking grin behind her thin lined lips. She was known to be wicked when she wanted to be.

"I don't understand what you are trying to say Ms. Sung."

Naomi answered acting slightly confused, but deep inside she knew that her teacher was up to something, asking her that kind of a question.

"Do you take me for a dump person Naomi? You think I don't know about your constant fights with Jimin? The two of you are the talk of our school, every single week."

She said the last part slowly adding a point to every word. Naomi never assumed that her clashes with Jimin were that big to reach even to their teacher's ears.

"Everyone in school knows about them. Don't look at me like that Naomi - the teachers know too."

Ms. Sung finished the sentence as if she wanted to put an end to their conversation. Naomi, seeing that she wouldn't gain a win from the battle with her teacher, she decided to give up.

She stood up from her chair and was about to exit the office after waving a unfriendly goodbye to her teacher, but she changed her mind in the last minute. She turned towards Ms. Sung asking her the question which was bothering her once she found out that their teacher knew about the situation between her and Jimin. She wondered if Ms. Sung had certain reasons for her actions.

"If you know that about us, than you know that we also hate each other. Why did you have to put us in the same team?"

Ms. Sung kept her head low pretending that her papers were more interesting than what Naomi had asked her. But the answer she gave her was saying the opposite.

That answer hunted after Naomi even after she escaped the office. And it stayed with her even when she decided to chase after her demons.

"Because Naomi, someone once said - the line between love and hate is very thin."
