Jacob spun around to face Thomas.
"Vince told me," he began, his voice firm, " Thomas will stay here. My guard will take you to get some rest. I have some work to do, but I'll meet you both in my office soon."
Jacob spoke to the boys, then the doctor arrived to take blood samples from Thomas. The others were escorted to Jacob's office. Meanwhile, Jacob himself was on the phone, his tone turning dark.
"Yes," he said, his voice a low growl, "do it. Kill them all." He ended the call with a sharp click and headed for his office with a determined stride.
Meanwhile, in the safe haven:
"Brenda!" Aris called out, his voice laced with worry. "Have you seen Vince?"
"I think he's over there," Brenda replied, pointing in a direction.
"Thanks, Brenda!" Aris said before hurrying off to find Vince. He had a message to deliver, one that would shatter Vince's world.
"What's this?" Vince inquired, taking the note from Aris's outstretched hand.
"A message for you," Aris answered, his face grim.
The note was from John, an old friend. It stated that their mutual friend, Jacob, had died two months ago. No body was found, but John had just received confirmation. He needed Vince to come... for closure.
/Suddenly/
An explosion ripped through the air, followed by panicked screams and the unmistakable crackle of gunfire. Bombs detonated, engulfing the safe haven in chaos. It was an attack.
Vince, adrenaline surging, grabbed his weapon and raced towards the source of the commotion. As he rounded a corner, a massive aircraft descended from the sky. But the most shocking sight wasn't the burning wreckage... it was the figure standing atop it.
