Tip 4: Writing What You Want to Read

Writing novels is about sharing your ideas with the world. When you are writing, it is important to enjoy what your writing about. So, instead of writing what you think everyone else wants to read, write what you want to read.
If you want to read a story, odds are you aren't the only one. You probably have amazing ideas, that just have to be written down. Be inspired. Be excited. Because writing is a wonderful way to express yourself.
If you write what you think everyone else wants to read, one of two things will probably happen: it will turn out that no one wants to read it or you get bored and abandon it. Those aren't what any author wants. If you think about what other people want to read, you are going to want to please them by writing exactly the way they want. If you put yourself in the position to do something in the mindset of someone else, you won't be able to accomplish it as well as they could. If they want to read a story, they will read one.
While writing, you have to keep things interesting. For you and your reader. So if you write about something you don't enjoy, odds are you're going to abandon the story.
