Tip 7: Find Your Style
Everyone has a different style that they use to write. Some people use a lot of metaphors, some people use riddles. Whatever you use, it is exactly that. What you use. Don't copy someone else's style! You may not even know what your style is. But once you figure it out, you embrace it.
A good way to find your writing style is rewriting something in your own words. Find a phrase on the internet and rewrite it, and without even knowing it you will use your style. For example:
-Betty is a beautiful girl, I want to marry her.
Or...
-That Betty is beautiful, and I wish to be her husband.
These are two different styles, yet they mean the exact same thing. Rewriting is a great way to find your style.
Embrace your style like there's no tomorrow! Once you know your style, use it to your advantage. People should always be able to tell that YOU wrote something because your style should shine through the page. Whatever view you have, everyone's style is different. So use your own style. Using someone else's wouldn't feel right, so don't try. Your style is fit for you and your personality, so don't change it!
