Genma was standing in the Hokage's office. He'd been there for pretty much most of the day, only leaving during his thirty minute lunch break (which really didn't count in his eyes, since he'd just gone down to the standby station to get his sandwich from his locker, though, he was pleasantly surprised by the sweet dumplings and the cute note [Y/N] had left him at some point).

Genma returned after lunch with a smile on his face and stick of dumplings in his hand, chewing them as he entered the Hokage's office again. The Hokage looked up from his paper work and noticed the small piece of paper with his daughter's handwriting on it sticking out of Genma's pocket along with the unusual grin on his face.

"You've really got her wrapped around your finger you know." The Third said, smiling as he went back to his paperwork. Genma almost choked on his last dumpling.

"I, uh, I, well, I, um." Genma stuttered a little, his usual cool exterior faltering under the gaze of the Hokage. It was just in this moment that he realized he was actually dating the Third Hokage's daughter. The. Third. Fucking. Hokage.

Hiruzen chuckled. He'd never seen Genma so flustered before and it was actually fairly amusing. "Relax, Genma. You've been in my guard for quite some time now, you may speak freely with me. Tell me, are you as crazy about my daughter as she is about you?"

Genma couldn't help the smile that returned to his face just thinking about his girlfriend. "She's my whole world, sir."

The Hokage didn't respond immediately and Genma used the time to throw away the stick from his dumplings and then reach into his pocket to retrieve his senbon. Just as he went to put it back between his teeth, the Hokage spoke, his words startling Genma and making him pierce his tongue slightly.

"You two would give me some beautiful grandchildren you know."

The Hokage didn't seem to notice that Genma had stabbed his own tongue or how the blood rushed to his cheeks. Instead, he continued stamping mission reports and flipping through new requests. Genma was thankful for his ignorance (even if he was pretending) and was quick to regain his upright posture, standing guard by the door like he usually did. For the rest of his shift, he tried his best to fight the blush that rose to his cheeks at the Hokage's mumblings.

"Yes, beautiful grandchildren indeed..."
