The Runaways

Lieutenant Hollow holds a transmitter in his hand, communicating with the Agents of the Aries Duo: Marcel Koleno and Mariko Oshiro.

Hollow: "I want a thorough report on the status of that city. Don't miss any detail!"

Marcel: "If I may, Lieutenant... why do you need to know about Tokyo?"

Hollow: "Tokyo is Scorpius territory, and it's one of their most prized cities... a bustling city is perfect for funding. Orion is going to need control of it!"

Mariko: "Understood, sir."

Hollow: "And be quick about it... they will know you're there soon enough."

He turns off the transmitter, and looks at the person behind him... Bataar.

Both of them stand in a white room, emptied out completely. A room meant for training.

Bataar: "You finished?"

Hollow: "I've been waiting for the chance to put you in your place." He unsheathes his ax, as Bataar spins the swords on his arms... both of them ready to spar.

Bataar: "Your move."

Hollow: "Alright, then..." He flips the ax in his hand, pointing with the shotgun side and firing.

Chapter 3 - The Runaways

Six Years Into the War

Inside of the Scorpius briefing room, Madoka meets with Ephris Ryosei and Terry Blake. She places her arms behind her back and speaks.

Madoka: "Tokyo city is where you're going. We've received word of Orion interference that has gone under our noses."

Ephris twists one of her hair strands. "Why would they want to be in Tokyo? That's Scorpius territory, and heavily guarded."

Terry: "Yeah, what's goin' on?"

Madoka: "They want to find weak points in the city's defenses, scouting for openings to attack."

Terry: "Oh... guess that makes sense."

Madoka: "They'll be sending Agents of their own for stealth work. It's your job to make sure they don't leave. Capture them if possible."

Ephris: "Of course."

Terry: "So, no soldiers as backup?"

Madoka's eyebrows furrow, as she glares at Terry. "... No."

Terry: "Why... not?"

Madoka: "I don't have resources to spend to babysit you. You can handle this yourselves... can't you? That's why you're here." She holds her hand close to her chest, rubbing her fingers together and watching the shadowy flakes fade into the air.

Ephris: "My friend here was just... curious, is all. Please forgive him."

Terry: "Whoa, what?! I didn't agree to an apology!"

Madoka: "At least one of you has some sense. That's a relief."

Terry: "Just who do you think you are, lady?!"

Madoka: "Your boss." She walks out of the room, leaving Terry to fume.

Ephris: "Terry, what was that?! You're arguing with our superiors!"

Terry: "She's not my superior, man!"

Ephris: "Why do you act like this, every time? Why can't you just do as you're told?"
