In one of Germany's many bars, bustling with people, one person sitting with a mug takes the attention of its newest visitor. The new arrival, revealing himself to be a cloaked Marcel, sits next to a man in a black coat and wide-rimmed cap.

The man in question, with a scar that runs down the side of his lips, takes a sip of his drink. His voice carries a slight Russian accent with it.

"Not from around here."

Marcel sharks his head. "That makes two of us. The name's Marcel, here on behalf of Orion."

"... You've got another job for me?"

Marcel slides a few photos across the table, images of a man in a suit with a bowler cap on his head. "Something like that... my partner and I will need your help in tracking someone down."

The man analyzes the photos. "Really? This guy doesn't seem like much."

Marcel: "We have reason to believe... he's an informant for Doctor Shade."

"Well, isn't that something?" He slides the photos back. "As long as I get paid for this, then I guess it doesn't matter."

Marcel: "We've got a ship waiting outside, we're ready to go whenever you are."

The man snickers. "Slow down... can't I finish my drink first?"

Marcel nods, slowly. "... Right. I guess you did pay for the whole thing."

"You ought to relax and get a drink yourself. You don't look like someone who knows how to relax at all."

Marcel: "... I might just take you up on that offer... uh..."

"... Vernon. Vernon Steele."

Marcel: "I'll take you up on that offer... Vernon."

They sit at the bar, Marcel ordering his drink and the two tapping their mugs together.

Chapter 7 - Bounty

Six Years Into the War

Madoka: "You did WHAT?!"

Madoka and Hideko are in one of Shade's many labs, as Madoka holds Alexei by the collar of his lab coat. He speaks as he holds his hands up in surrender.

Alexei: "I-I let the Doctor have Samuel... it was my order!"

Madoka: "And you listened to him?!"

Alexei: "I did!"

Madoka groans, pushing Alexei away. "He's going to do horrible things to him! Don't you realize that?!"

Hideko: "Tell us where he's keeping him."

Alexei: "I-I don't know, okay? He didn't tell me anything about that!"

Hideko huffs, stomping forward and sizing Alexei up. "You're lucky you're being so compliant, string bean... if you're lying, I'll send you to Shade in a BOX!"

Alexei: "I'M SORRY! I'M SORRYYYY!"

Madoka crosses her arms. "Let's go, Hideko. We're going to find our friend."

Hideko: "Yeah... not like this guy has any."

As Madoka and Hideko leave the lab, Alexei holds his head and sighs. The duo continues walking through the hallway, passing scientists and soldiers.

Hideko: "Why? Why the hell is Shade still allowed to do whatever he wants?"

Madoka: "I... I don't know, Hideko. I don't even know why we're still here, to be honest."
