Lihyun

With a final huff, I closed the luggage and zipped it close, sealing the rest of my clothes.

I sighed and placed my head on the luggage, suddenly feeling worn out after packing the rest of my things before I leave the country later tonight.

Me and my brother's flight to Incheon tonight will be long and tiring, and I knew that I needed the rest. But our flight was accidentally moved sooner, and our mother only informed us last night. So, I had to do a lot of last minute packing. I found it more practical to pack my clothes last, which brings me to where I am now.

I slowly sat up straight and took a long breath in the process, careful with my stiff neck which is caused by accidentally sleeping with my head placed on one of my boxes last night. I really wish that all my things could just pack themselves, but unfortunately such magic doesn't actually exist.

As much as I want it to...

Having a fairy godmother would sure help me in my situation right now. But then again, I'm already finished packing anyway, so why even bother asking for a miracle anymore?

I suddenly heard a dainty chime ring from nearby. The melody filled the now empty room with a somehow magical atmosphere. I find myself letting it ring a few more seconds before walking over to my phone on one of the boxes and answering the call.

"Hello?" I asked in a groggy voice as I held my phone closer to my ear.

And boy did I regret that...

"강리현 언니 보고 십다! (Kang Lihyun unnie I miss you!)"

The moment my eardrums cracked I placed the phone further away from my sensitive ears and closed my eyes tightly. As much as I love getting calls from this particular person, she can just be a bit too loud. Because apparently, she can only talk in extra™ during phone calls.

"When will you get here 언니?" Her excited voice is loud enough for me to hear even from a distance.

I keep forgetting about that...

"Soon, Yumi, soon. I just finished packing, so all I'll need to do is take a shower and fix a few things then I'm heading to the airport. Will you still be picking me and Taehyun up tomorrow at 11 o'clock?" I placed my phone in between my shoulder and ear and picked up one of the boxes, placing it on top of the other as I start to multitask to get things done faster.

"Of course! I'll be with a friend though."

I pushed the stack of boxes closer to the door and took the phone back in my hand. "Huh? Why?" I grabbed a pen and sticky notes and went back to the boxes.

"Well, my car's still in the paint shop and I can't pick it up 'til Saturday. So, I asked a friend of mine to drive me to the airport to pick you up!"

I placed a few sticky notes on the boxes and started adding notes on them for the people we hired that will be handling them. Because apparently labeling them wasn't enough when we first moved here. Funny to think that now I'm going back to my home country after so many years.

"Well that's nice of them..." I mumbled as I wrote in all capital letters saying, 'IF YOU CAN'T READ, THEN THERE'S A DAMN PICTURE ON THE BOX SAYING THAT IT'S FRAGILE. DARE BREAK THESE AND I'LL RUIN YOUR LIVES.'

That should scare them enough...

I then hear Yumi sighing through the phone as she seem to move around. "Yeah...And what makes this better is that he lives in the same neighborhood as you! That's why he didn't have much problem with helping me take you around!"

I nodded though I knew that she couldn't see me and placed another sticky note and started writing the same thing. "Well that's very convenient— wait." I stopped writing and thought back to what she just said.

"What?"

"Did you just say, he?" I emphasized the pronoun and nervously waited for her answer.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against men, and I certainly don't feel that uncomfortable with them. I have a brother so I'm confident to say that I'm aware of things related to men. It's just the fact that Yumi's already mentioning boys before I even get there.

"I know what you're thinking, but that's not it. He really is just a good friend." I heard her sigh before continuing her explanation as I listened carefully.

"I met him five years ago in a concert. He helped me find my phone when I lost it, then we exchanged numbers, then became instant buddies! He's a really nice guy, and I'm not forcing you to date him. I just trust him enough to know that he'll take good care of you when I can't, especially since you live in the same neighborhood."

Her voice almost sounded like she's begging me to accept him. And dear lord it's working. Because if I ever had the biggest weakness, it'll be weakness to those who are younger than me. I've always had a soft spot for younger people and Yumi knows exactly how to use that to her advantage.

"Fine. Okay. I trust you. But that doesn't mean I trust him. I'll have to meet him personally to make a decision." I said sternly and continued on with my sticky notes mission.

"Okay, fair enough. And besides, I can't force you to date him. He's a hybrid, like me!"

And I paused again. "Say what?"

"He's a ragamuffin hybrid. Real cute, real nice. You'll like him I promise." I can tell from her voice that she's holding in a squeal. And no, not the 'he's totally my type' squeal, but the 'I can't wait for this to happen' squeal.

"Oh? Well that's interesting. What's his name?" Before she could interrupt me from my mission any further, I started writing faster as she spoke.

"His name is Park Jimin. He's actually younger than me."

I smiled to myself when I finally finished writing and looked at the finished product with pride. "Try dropping these you motherfu—"

"What was that?"

Yumi's voice brought me out of my prideful state and brought me back to our conversation. "Oh, uh, nothing. I was just talking to myself, anyway Park Jimin, right? Younger than you? That's cool."

"Yeah, it is. Anyway, I'll leave you to your business now. It's getting late and you still have to drive."

My eyes widened from her words, so I checked the time. And when I saw what time it is, I swear my heart just dropped to rock bottom. "Shit, you're right."

It's already near 9 pm, and our flight's in 11. I still have to fix myself and make sure that Taehyun is ready to go. Then I'll still have to drive to the airport which is more or less 30 minutes away from here, depending on the traffic. So now, after considering all these, I'm confident to say that I'm in complete panic.

"Of course I am. Well, see you tomorrow!"

I am so screwed...
