Friends or More (Niall Fanfic)

Chapter 24

I wake up and get showered. We were going to Greg and Denise's house today for dinner. I really hope I wasn't pertruding. I haven't really said anything and came over unexpected. I could left with Harry.

I walk down and see Niall watching tv. "Morning" he smiles and I smile back. "I'm not pertruding anything being here am I." I ask taking a seat next to Niall. "No not at all. Why you think you are" he asked concerned. "I just showed up unexpectedly and never really asked if it was ok" I say. Niall smiles "don't worry it's cool, my mom adores you. She was shocked at your blue hair but I explained the stores and that made her adore you even more" I smile. "I adore her"

We get to Gregs house and they welcome me with open arms. I sit on the ground along with Niall playing with baby Theo. "he's gotten so big Greg" Niall says. "Yeah everyday it's something new" as I build a block tower theo would tear it down and is make s face and he's laugh. Niall looked at me and smiled "o think he likes you "

We all sit at the dining room table. Greg, Denise, maura, bobby, theo, Niall and I. "So Mackezie what do you do." Bobby asks. "I'm a nurse practitioner. I work at LA children's hospital, in the oncology unit." "Wow good for you that must be difficult to see sick young kids" Denise says. "Yeah you really never get used to it. You may see them on and off for days, weeks, months and you know it's the last of their life." I frown. "So why the blue hair" Greg asks. "Greg" Niall spits. "It's ok Niall. I know it's different especially around here. I had s young boy that was really sick and just made me realize how precious life was. He drew me this picture and everything on it was blues blue Cookie Monster, blue birds, I asked why everything was blue and he said he loved blue and he loved me. He was only like 6 years old. So the next day I saw him I colored my hair blue. My boss loved the idea. About a month later he passed away but his mother wrote me note saying that the last month I took care of him he was so happy that I colored my hair blue that he knew I loved him that way." I smile. Looking over towards Denise and Maura them both in tears. As I am as well.

"So Niall beer" Greg asks him while Denise put Theo down. "Yeah thanks man, Kenz you want one" Niall asks and I nod. "Two Greg" Greg comes back with a beer for me, him, bobby and Niall.

Bobby left giving me s hug. He had to get up for work early. "So mom says she'll watch Theo so you me Denise and Mackezie can go down to the Irish Pub for s few drinks." Greg says.

Denise drove as me and Niall get in the back. "Look what I found" Niall showing me 2 pairs of sunglasses. Put them on let's take a pic. I say. We take a pic and I post on instagram with the caption you have designer shades just to hide your face.

We arrive at this little Irish pub. It was cute. Definitely different then ones around Ohio or LA. We sit in the booth, while Greg and Niall grab drinks. I talk to Densie. "So how long have you known Niall" she asks. "Little under a year. " "that's nice he's such s great boy. Are you two like together" "no we're just friends" I shake my head. "Oh that's too bad you guys look cute together." And I blush.

Niall and Greg come back with a shot and drinks. "What's this" I asked "this is an Irish car bomb" Greg laughs. "Why doesn't she get one" I whine. "She's driving and taking care of theo" he laughs. We take the shot and I wash it away with the beer Niall got me. We sit at the booth talking. I see a girl about are age with blonde hair come up to us. "Niall, Niall is that you" she asks. Niall looks up and saw it was someone he knew. "Omg it is. How are you" he gets up and hugs her. "I'm good Kate how are you. "Come sit for a little" as the engage in conversation totally leaving me out. Greg would say things here and there.

"Is this your girlfriend Niall." She finally asks what felt like hours later. "No were just friends." He smiles staring at her. "Good maybe we can catch up later tonight. Here's my number call me when your done here" and winks. Uh birch. Stop being jealous Mackezie.

"Wow I haven't seen her since before X factor." He smiles. I give him a weak smile. This was supposed to get us closer. "You so should call her Niall. Wow" Greg says and I roll my eyes. I think Denise say because I felt a hand on my leg for reassurance. I look over and she gives me a smile.

The whole ride home he wouldn't stop about how much Kate has changed. I just told him last night that I liked him but we should wait and this is how he deals with that. I feel tears coming to my eyes and I wisk them away.

"Whatcha doing woman watch s movie or something" Niall asks. "No I'm tired I'm going to bed" I say. And walk up to my room.

About an hour lying thinking in the bed. I decide I was overexagerating. I went to NIALLs room and knocked. I didn't hear anything so I slowly opened. He wasn't there. So I went down stairs and he wasn't there too. He probually went with Kate I say and head up to my room.

I look out the window and I see Niall talking to Kate. I look away and slowly close the curtains. I look one more time and they are kissing. What the hell. I feel tears this time and they don't stop. I get on my phone and look for flights to leave tommrow. There's one at 11am. I change my flight pay the balance and cry myself to sleep.

I wake up and pack. I walk downstairs waiting for my taxi can that should be here anytime. "Morning sweetheart." Maura says. I fake a smile. "Where are you going I thought you were staying for s few days" she asks concerned. I wanted to scream your sons an add. Likes to kiss others while he tells me he likes me months ago and I tell him I like him the other night but I just say. "Something came up at work and they need me there asap. Can you tell Niall I'll see him later and thank you for your hospitality Maura your such an amazing caring women." She nods and I give her s hug. I get into the taxi and make my way back to America.

NIALLS POV

I wake up and I feel a body next to me. I have a smile on my face. Maybe this could work between me and MACKENZIE. I look over and I freeze. That's not Mackenzie that's Kate. What the hell happened last night. I have got to get her out before Mackenzie find out. That will crush her.

"Kate Kate wake up" I say while shaking her. "Morning Niall who ever thought you were the bad boy" um no I was just really drunk and wasn't thinking. I liked you in high school and I wand good enough now I am since I'm famous. "I'm yeahyou gotta go before my mom see you" I make an excuse.

I walk down the stairs and notice the room Mackenzie was in was the door was shut song was thankful. "I'll call you later Niall" Kate says leaving. I turn around and saw my mom right there with a disappointing look.

"What" I asked "nothing. Oh by the way Mackenzie had an emergency at work and she left" she says walking back towards the kitchen. "What why didn't you or her wake me up" I asked worried. "She didn't want to she left quickly. And with what I saw this morning I can understand why" I look at her worried. "Niall why would you have a another girl over when the one you clearly like is here. That was just wrong Niall. I'm not yelling at you but you made your grave. Your a big boy now. I had a feeling something was up she didn't look right. She looked hurt and sad and I can see why now" my mom says. I run my hands through my hair. I just screwed this all up. Ugh!!! Why do I get so drunk.

I get out my phone and call her and text. The call goes straight to voicemail and the text I see is read but no response.

What did I do and how can I make this better. I get in the phone and make a call to LA florist I order a dozen roses and have a card that says. "I'm an idiot and I'm sorry. Please you mean the world to me. NI" and I have them sent to the house for when she gets home. I get on line and book a flight that leaves in 2 hours. I don't have to be in Brazil for a mother 3 days.

I say bye to my mom and head to the airport. I need to make this better.
