Goodbye For Now
Jake's POV
"Do you really have to go..?"
I sighed deeply and turned to my family, my mom's ears were drooped, as well as Jordan and Angle, who ran to me and hugged my legs. "Jordan, Angel.." I murmured.
"Big bro, don't go!" They both exclaimed sadly, Angel's eyes looked up to me pleadingly. I shook my head slowly and bent down to nuzzle them both gently, which only caused them to sob more.
"I can't not go." I said softly, hugging them. "I promise I'll come back in less than five months at the least." I added, Jordan clutched my leg tighter.
"That's too long!" He cried, "Big bro please!" He begged, tears rolling down his cheeks. My ears dropped as I nuzzled them farewell, I looked up at my mother, who was also crying.
"Mom.." I murmured, she walked to me and hugged as all, she shook as she sobbed. "I'll be okay.." I added to try and comfort her.
"I know, my son.." She said, looking at me, "You're all grown up.." She smiled sadly, "Just like James."
Flashback:
"Now, Jake. When you grow up, I want you to be like your old man here. Alright?" James smiled at Jake, Jake wagged his tail excitedly as he nuzzled his father's paw.
"Yes papa!" Jake yipped happily, his father smiled.
"You're a strong boy, Jake, I know you'll be doing great things in the future.." His father trailed, closing his eyes, "Take care of your mother and yourself.." His voice grew soft, Jake nuzzled his father's cheek lovingly in response. Suddenly, Jake heard a long beep. Alarmed, he looked up, his father was still and the machine beside him showed a long, steady red line. His paw, that Jake held, laid limp.
"Papa?" Jake asked, nudging his father's cheek, doctors came rushing in and before he realized it he was being carried away. "Papa?!" Jake called, reaching out to his father desperately.
"It's okay, Jake." His mom said in a trembling voice as she took him away. Jake's ears flattened as the hospital room door closed.
End Of Flashback..
"Jake?"
I shook uncontrollably, that night scarred me for life, it was more than horrible and terrible mashed together. Tears streamed down my face as I sobbed, my family comforted me by hugging me and I was just glad to have them.
Izzy's POV
"Take care of yourself out there little sis." Zane told me, ruffling my fur on my head, smiling sadly. I smiled at him too, feeling sad myself, and hugged him. I'm gonna miss him so much..
"Ahem."
We broke our hug, I looked at our parents, my mom and dad stood there. My mom looked sad, while my dad held no emotion. Zane felt my tension, so he patted my back in comfort.
"Mom, Dad.." I trailed uneasily. "I.. I don't know how you took this.."
"Just go, you have no choice anyway." My dad said in a low tone, sounding like he doesn't care. My heat was stabbed by his words, luckily my mom said more comforting words.
"It's okay, Izzy, you'll be fine. Just be careful for us, okay? I'll make sure to bake your favorite pie when you come back." My mom smiled sadly. I nodded and hugged her, after that, I went to hug my dad. Surprisingly, he let me hug him, but he didn't hug back, just stared at me silently. I lastly went to hug Zane.
"Take care guys." I said.
Swift's POV
"It feels like it was just yesterday that I enrolled at the school, now I'm leaving it behind.." I trailed to Freddie, I adjusted his top hat and sighed, "But it's for Jamaa, the Phantoms could be planning serious threats for all we could know.."
"Swift?"
I sat up and looked at my parents as they stood at the door of my room, I went to hug them both. "I'll miss you guys.." I murmured sadly.
"We know.." My dad trailed, "But your in good hands, we know that too." My dad smiled, "Watch out for yourself and your friends." I nodded.
"I love you guys.." I smiled sadly and hugged them one last time.
Hunter's POV
I stared at my father quietly, he was breathing steadily as he laid on the soft mattress. A faint blue glow surrounded him. I sighed deeply.
"Hey dad.. We heard news about the Phantoms sending threats to Jamaa, and we.. have to leave for a few months.." I trailed, "But don't worry, I know that when we come back, you'll be alright now. No longer cruel.. instead, kind and loving like before.."
I looked at the window above us, the starry night starting to appear, "Shade, please watch over my dad, Hannah and my mom. I miss you so much, I hope you're okay up there. I'll be gone for a few months, but I'll be back." I said softly. Standing up, I added, "Farewell.."
Later...
Author's POV
As the Magic Alpha jammers grouped near a large boat, the teachers greeted them with warm smiles of encouragement. To which they respond with weak smiles.
"Don't worry, young ones. All will be well." Amanda said softly.
"I hope so.." Jake murmured nervously, his head low.
"The journey will take a day and a half if you follow this route." Sir Viz said, handing Swift a map. Swift read the map closely, the kingdom was a good distance away from Jamaa, but the route they were instructed to take was a safe one. "In better cases, before dark tomorrow."
"We'll make sure to follow it." Hunter replied quietly, nuzzling Izzy gently to wake her since she was falling asleep on his shoulder. "And come back alive.."
"Also, don't worry about the jammers there, they get news pretty fast so they'll know you." Sir Landon added.
The thought of possibly dying made Swift shiver. But she kept calm.
The mission will be alright, Swift She heard Kira say in her head, it's been a while since she's heard from her grandmother. But hearing her voice again made her relax a little more.
The teachers looked at the jammers, the stars above, then to the wide ocean ahead of them.
"Good luck, Magic Alphas."
