CHAPTER FOUR:
POWER RANGERS

TOMMY KEPT LOOKING at the Power Coin in contemplation. She bit hard onto the flesh of her lip snapping her back to reality— at least that's what she thought. Her reality didn't even feel real anymore. How could she make sense of everything that was revealed to her? There was one way. Jason suggested she look into it, on newspapers and perhaps the city's website. She hopped up from bed and retrieved her laptop on the desk then went back to bed. Tommy didn't feel like going out to town to find a newspaper article from weeks ago. The internet was bound to have some information on it.

She googled the town's city website and moved the cursor to a link that read 'Masked heroes save Angel Grove' this could be it. The page reloaded to an article with photographs of person- more than one person -in steel suits. From head to toe. There were five of them. Tommy scrolled down definite intrigue in her eyes.

"What is this? 'Five superheroes came to the rescue when an alien invasion washed up Angel Grove. How or why this happened is yet still to be determined by Angel Grove PD. Their superhuman strength helped save the town, but their identities are unknown'—blah blah." She skimmed. Her eyes went to the last sentence of the paragraph. "'Are they even human?'"

Tommy glanced back at the green coin suspiciously. She can't possibly be one of them? She thought back to what she read: superhuman strength. Then her eyes landed on the door she broke without even trying. Sure, it's easy to break a door, but to break a strong door in half with just a brush? That's something else. Before closing the laptop, she printed the article, then put it away. Getting up to retrieve the printed article Tommy folded it and shoved it in her spare bag. That same night she went through another excruciating dinner with her parents filled of scoldings and silence.

Following morning, she got up right after her parents went out to work giving her the will to do whatever she wanted for the day. Tommy smashed the the glass jar she had sitting on her wardrobe stand with her fist and bills and coins spluttered, toppling all over. She gathered the change and the disquisition, shoving it inside her jacket. Her mind was still a whirling mess. Perhaps a walk down to the town's shops could help her make sense of everything. She needed to run an errand first.

Jason Scott received a text from Trini urging him to get downtown as soon as possible. Alerted, he rolled out of bed pulling a shirt on and slipping his feet into his boots. It could have been about thirty minutes when Tommy walked out of a store with a bag in hand when Trini sent Zack to casually follow her meanwhile Jason made it to their meet up spot, a coffee shop.

"Hey, guys. I'm here." Jason breathed heavily as if he'd been running to make it quickly. "What's the matter?"

Kimberly turned around. "Did you run all the way over here?"

He nodded, "Yeah. Trini said it was urgent. Did something happen?" Ever since Zordon told them of a new threat, he's been on edge.

"No, only that Tommy was seen around here." Kimberly replied. "Thought we could try talking some sense into her one more time."

"Okay. Where is she?" Jason questioned, slightly glancing around.

"We had Zack look for her." Trini answered. He slid next to her trying to regain his breath.

"Do you think she'll come to us?" Billy picked at his doughnut.

"She's one of us. She has to." Jason said lowly. "We have a link. How long can she stand being like us out there alone?"
