'Come on kit, go to sleep.' Kurama urged her as she tossed and turned on her bed. She didn't sleep a wink, and before she knew it, it was already 3 am in the morning and in another 4 hours she would have to wake up and go to the academy.

'Nothing will change, you will still be in the Nara household living a happy life, you won't go back I can assure you Naru.' he coaxed again and again only to receive the stubborn whine from Naru.

'No...If I wake up it'll change, it'll all go back to how it was...'

'You keep telling yourself that, when are you going to sleep? Don't tell me you plan on never sleeping forever?' He snorted sarcastically.

"I just can't sleep Kurama..." She muttered out loud, squeezing her eyes shut.

She tried counting sheep, tried counting ramen, tried everything really. Well everything to the scope of her abilities.

'You can kit, come on sleep. You still have school tomorrow.' He laid his head on his paws as he closed his eyes, trying to get some sleep. Inside his mind, Kurama sighed.

He wondered how Naru would have lived without him, if he didn't wake up from the sealing he would be sure she would have crumbled into dust after that incident. He woke up enshrouded in fear and anxiousness of his host, her mental strength was good from all the 'training' the villagers have been giving her but she wasn't physically strong enough to deal with them.

'I don't want school tomorrow Kurama...' Naru whined as she closed her eyes only to snap them open a second later.

Kurama simply sighed. Maybe if he had woken up a little earlier then Naru sight could still be salvaged. He could only fix what was torn or broken, he could speed up her healing but he couldn't heal something that wasn't broken. her beautiful eyes weren't damaged, they weren't injured at all.

It was the optic nerve that was damaged and nerves of the human body are always tricky, it was the one thing that Kurama couldn't heal, because it simply wasn't broken, it was damaged.

She would have been a little better and a little salvageable if she got medical help immediately, but even that wasn't allowed simply because she hosted him. Kurama felt endless guilt for robbing the sight from Naru. Although he wasn't the perpetrator he was the final reason why she was denied medical attention.

She wasn't like the other humans around him, she wasn't full of hate and she was just a kid, he still remembered how she accepted herself as a demon. Embracing that title and being his partner.

It was those small little acts that made him want to protect her more, although he couldn't save her sight but he could teach her how to see. He would teach her how to see using her chakra, for now his chakra was too poisonous for her to use, unless there was a method to filter it somehow.

With her enormous chakra which was almost inexhaustible she would be able to 'see' without passing from chakra exhaustion and she would be a great sensor type ninja. Not to mention with her enormous chakra pool she could spam jutsus all she wanted and with enough time, he could use her chakra to unlock the kekkei genkai of the Uzumaki that was lying dormant in her.

Naru pushed aside her blanket as slowly stepping on the ground as she made her decision. She knelt to a crawl and tried to find a wall because after finding a wall could she find the door connected to one of the walls. She moved like a snail but still managed to knock her head on the edge of the wooden table, incurring a hiss from her.

"My room is two doors away if you need me."

She remembered Shikamaru saying clearly before he closed her door.
