Chapter 16

It was the next morning.
Four-thirty and neither Maya or her parents had one second of sleep.
Raven is still crying and everyone is dead tired.
Katy left it to Shawn while she got coffee.
But he can't help his daughter.
Maya stepped into Raven's room and grabbed Raven from Shawn.

"Go get some air Dad. I'll handle her," Maya said and Shawn was off.
"Hey. What's wrong?" Maya asked.

Raven started crying and Maya sighted.
She swaddled her around and when that didn't work she thought of the one thing that has always worked.

"Dear Baby Girl.
Close your eyes and sleep the night away.
Close your eyes and sleep.
Close your eyes and dream your sweet dreams.
Sleep away the night Baby Girl."

Maya saw Raven was asleep and put her back in her crib.
She went in front and Katy was releaved.

"Thank you Maya," Katy said.
"I really am staying at the Matthews tonight. How late is it?" Maya asked and took her phone out.
"Five. Okay I'm gonna shower and see how I can make myself look a bit better," Maya said.

She jumped through the shower and got out.
She then put on a outfit and braided her hair.

She put on some make-up to cover the dark circles, grabbed her backpack and then she went down stairs.
Her mom had falling asleep and Shawn called her aside.
He gave her coffee and they talked.

"I'm gonna call and say your mother is sick or that Raven is sick. Same for me. You're gonna have to manage on your own to school today," Shawn said.
"No kidding. Hell I am tired. What happened last night? She isn't usually like this," Maya said.
"Yeah I know. Will you be able to survive the day?" Shawn asked.
"Don't have a choice. I'll grab something to eat at the Matthews. See you tonight," Maya said and was off.

She had no clue how she was going to get through the day but had no choice.
She was constantly thinking on the drive to the Matthews how she is going to survive but left that for another day.

"Hey Matthews," Maya said.
"You look like the dead. Have some coffee," Cory said.
"Thanks. Raven kept us up all night. Like literally. She only fell asleep at five. I am so tired."
"Shane. Why don't you cancel school for the day then?" Topanga asked.
"Can't. I'll survive," Maya said.
"Okay eat some oatmeal. It will help and then we can go," Cory said.
"I have my own car so I'll drive on my own. I won't make an accident," Maya said.
"Just be careful then," Cory said.

Later the morning at school.

Maya's pov

I was as tired as heck.
I knew that.
The Matthews knew that and soon enough everyone else did as well.
I have no idea why though.
I had kept up way longer but maybe because this counted as a all nighter.
I have had more than just two coffees since I arrived at school and of course I did feel a bit more awake.

Maya opened her locker and hot a card which fell out.
A few actually.
Doesn't anyone have anything better to do?
Maya sigh as she picks up one of them.
Before knowing what she got pushed into another locker.

"Maya!" Riley said and rushed to her best friend including Lucas and Farkle.
"Are you okay?" Riley asked.
"Yeah," Maya said and Lucas helped her up.
"Thanks," Maya said.

The boys who had caused everything was laughing and Lucas lost his temper.
Both he and Farkle tackled them and Maya got a fright.

"Lucas!" Zay said and tried to get his friends away from the boys.

Maya was now wide awake.
Cory got involved and tried to get everyone seperated.
Riley grabbed Maya and took her away.
She just froze.
She didn't say anything and Riley saw she did get hurt.

"Are you okay? Maya?" Riley said.
"I can't. I can't do this," Maya said.

She ran out of the school to her car.
She climbed in and drove away.
She knew nothing would be the same.
She saw blood was on her sleeve and decided before she could go to her place she had to clean herself up.
She stopped at a mall just awhile from the school and went to their bathrooms.
She quickly got a cloth pit of her backpack and made it wet.
She cleaned up all the blood from her arms and got a new shirt on as well.

There all her troubles would start.
